Ground Stomp Test#1
This is a test moc revolving around someone slamming a weapon or themselves into ground creating a super-human shockwave or quake.
About this creation
Here I just wanted to see if I could make an indentation of something heavy hitting the ground, and creating a ripple.

Next I'll make it semi-rounder, with cracks and more cheese slopes.

What do you think?

This is a very good technique and I like the detail in it. also, at first I didn't notice, but its SNOT, and the studs are on the side! very clever.

Very nice! You should make a stop-motion video and see the crater actually being made. XD

If you can, always make it wavy. I had to know what ti was to recognize it, try to put tiles at an angle at the very impact point, maybe clear tiles to indicate movement. I like that hair idea, myself I think I've posted it somewhere in a comic, a while ago.

I thought the ripple was perfect. But I agree with Michael that the hammer should be at the centre. A hand-forcefield would make an awesome effect too ;) ~Thoy

Quoting Michael Rutherford A difficult subject and a very good attempt. I think the illusion of the shockwave might be enhanced if the weapon was at the very center of the lowest point. It might enhance the "ripple" effect. Attack!
I never thought of that, thanks for the tip!

Very good! Maybe make it deeper in the middle, and use darker colors in the middle. It will create a "meteor" effect.
