An epic battle finally ends, only to start over again.
About this creation
Star Command is no more. In a final attempt to win the war for good, Zurg unleashes every resource available at his disposal: expendable soldiers, every arsenal of mass destruction and an entire fleet of battleships. An enraged Buzz Lightyear fights alone on his last legs after losing the entire Star Command and his own team in a ruthless, full frontal assault within a single hour. With only revenge on his mind, he fights Emperor Zurg with every ounce of anger in his soul but is completely overpowered by Zurg's unfazed determination and overconfidence. In self-sacrifice, Buzz throws Zurg and himself into a nearby escape pod, launches it into the depths of space and activates the last of his grenades destroying them both. But just barely.
With Buzz unconsciously floating through space for an undetermined amount of time, he is discovered by astronauts and is taken back to their base. He wakes up and finds himself in a new body and thanks the people who saved his life, but still greatly mourns for the people he lost in a previous battle.
In another part of space, Zurg lands into a scrapyard and what's left of him is sold to a group of thugs who experiment in mutation and robotization. Zurg himself wakes up to find he is about to be tested with his enhancements in an old-fashioned battle arena. He violently escapes by blasting a hole onto the roof above and flies out, escaping the the pile of rubble and resumes his reign of terror once again. Buzz learns that his old nemesis is back again and demands upgrades so that he may end Zurg's evil once again.
When I first heard that Lego was going to release Toy Story sets, I was excited. When they also announced constructable Buzz and Zurg sets, a policeman knocked on my door and gave me a ticket for public disturbance a minute later. It tool me a while to get them both but I'm a happy man now to have these. I was unsatisfied with the initial build and decided to add pieces of my own including the ball/joint bricks I've been saving for this occasion, and am now happy with the result.
