About this creation
This was built back in my early 'out of the closet AFOL days' of 2008 for Nannan's Black Fantasy contest. I remember that EVERYONE was building very organically, using those long tail pieces as tentacles, etc. back then. I wanted to stand apart and build something very robotic and mechanical. This was a killer machine that could be heard from miles away.

I learned then, that black was not an easy color to photograph. I still wake up in a cold sweat thinking about taking those pictures.

Quoting Keith Goldman I had forgotton the sheer brilliance of this model, from title to execution. I wonder what gems such a contest might produce today. Love the use of trans-orange whip-antennas, and great lighting on the surface.
Perhaps we should rehash Nannan's contest?
