Alternative 6208. Cuttlefish Salvage tug.
About this creation
A hovership used to salvage scrap and wreckage, used by the Rebel Alliance, based on a cuttlefish. It uses it's six 'claws' to pick up and carry durasteel or other useful debris.

After I built the Dragonfly, from 6208, there were still quite a few parts left over. So this is an attempt to use the rest of them. I did cheat a little; the extra control sticks are from set 7711.

Ok, I'll be the first to admit it's probably not the prettiest ship you've ever seen. Nor is it all that fuctional...oh well!

Side view in flight mode. With more parts available you could design a really unique propulsion system along the tail similar to a real cuttlefish. Here I've just used an engine located in between those tan coloured tail pieces.

Front view. The pilot's position has excellent view. It is exposed as I assumed this salvage tug would operate in a non-enemy riddled environment!

Ah-ha! We've found some Dragonfly wreckage that we can salvage.

The claws deploy to manipulate objects. The red lights on the end of the claws are small tractor beam units.

The tail/engine can hinge downward to provide extra lift when attempting to haul heavy items.

Scrap in it's jaws, the tug heads back to base. P.S. It doesn't have the most secure grip...:)

Hmmm I wonder if Rebels really got the imagination to make something as cool... or only if you've designed it for them ;)
