A Grasshopper made mostly from 6208 parts left over after I made the Dragonfly. I did cheat a bit though; most of the leg hinges came from a crappy little exo-force set. This was a lot of fun to make. Even the hour it took to get the folding wing mechanism right! I wanted to make some antennae too but I wasn't happy with anything I tried so I just left them off.
I love insects, especially mechanical ones. My favourite transformers were the Insecticons. Speaking of transformers, the colour scheme on my Grasshopper reminds me of the Dinobot colour scheme ( greys, gold and hint of red). Maybe I should do some more insects in this style.
Help me think of a cool Dinobot-type name for my Grasshopper, like 'Swarm' or 'Puke"....
