This is the first MOC I've done in a long time, and I've tried to use some of the new(er) methods I've seen since discovering the online FOL community. This was built about a year ago, and I've finally gotten around to experimenting with a lightbox.

Fascinating design. Stout, but definitely not going to be easily moved if it doesn't want to be. As for your lighting, try having a light on either side of it. It will reduce the shadow effect if you want clearer photos. ^Blub^
Yeah, it's a bulky little guy. :) Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try and get a couple more adjustable desk lamps for my future shots. |

Quoting Jesse Long
Luiz, I think that what Yojimbo Enterprises was going for was an homage to the way that ancient Japanese (and earlier Chinese, among many other empires/nations/kingdoms/etc.) dynasties did with certain soldiers within its ranks and, thus, the Mark III was simply trying to be one of those banner holding soldiers. With that being said, I am in agreement with you on this mech having more of a purpose for those two ears other than just merely decorative purposes or an homage to ancient Japan. Those ears could make for excellent giant swords that the mech could wield, that is, if the mech had hands, anyway. Also, I'd like to see a fourth leg in the back with the Mark IV to give it more of a "rabbit" sort of vibe.
Jesse, that's a good idea, though I'm not sure there will be a MkIV (at least not soon). I'm getting ready to start a pretty involving project which is going to consume all of my LEGO building time for probably about a year or more. I will still probably try to throw a few MOCs in there as I go.
Good catch on the "rabbit" vibe I was going for, as this is my own little homage. ;) The mecha really do resemble rabbits hopping around the battlefield in hover mode, and when they go into Flight Mode, they really tear it up. |

Great! Loved the weapons, the cockpit and the flag. Just disliked the red "blades" pointing up.
Thanks! The blades are actually the energy deflector shield generators (and I wanted to give it a "rabbit" feel...as pointed out by Jesse). :) |
