Sentinel DSE
Deep Space Explorer
About this creation
In 2133, 59 years after the Blacktron conflict ignited, the Columbus class vessel was introduced. 50 were initially commissioned after the successful jump of the Neptune Voyager to Alpha Centuri in 2069, a century after the first moon landing. Even 3 years after the aforementioned invasion, this versatile class is still in existence, updated with modern technology. Amongst these explorers is the Sentinel.

The Sentinel is 24 metres long (72 studs) and is manned by 7 crew. It is a significant improvement over the earlier Neptune Voyager, but retains essentially the same shape.

The ship has a main engine along with two mounted on the wings, two support thrusters at the front, and two maneuvering thrusters mounted outside the shield generators. Overall, top cruising speed is 750kmh, while warp speed is 14/20.

While the ship isn't military, every ship needs to be able to defend itself against anything, even asteroids. A medium pulse laser turret is equipped. The cannons fire consecutively, with the right having just fired, while the left is firing (in the picture, that is). The shield generators are Grade 7 Ionic/EMF generators, which are powerful.

A small solar array is found at the front, providing some electrical power.

Bubble window, primarily for observations. Secondarily for crew members to just gaze out of.

Underside sensor pod, which is extremely sensitive.

Airlock open, with a crew member ready to do some exterior maintainence.

Bridge.

The rear of the vessel is home to the small twin fusion reactor which provides the majority of the power of the ship. Also here is the ladder and further along, hydroponics.

Midship features the airlock and the water dispenser.

The front has the air recycling tank, medical facility, bunk, and sensors/ communications.

View from the other side. You can see the medical cabinet.

The almighty water dispenser. Bow down, neither you nor I are worthy.

Oh, it's the maintainence guy.

Exploration vessels always have at least one escort vessel alongside them. In this case, it's a Paragon*.

End notes:
This one took about 3 hours to build, and it was originally going to look very different at the front, but I obviously opted for my more classic style of ship building. It's like the exploration variant of the Britannic Darkstar. This is the third time I've tried to upload the page. First time, MOCpages died. Second time, It wanted me to redo the page, which I REALLY wasn't happy with. Anyway, I'll leave you now...

*Just as I took this picture, the Paragon fell over. Unharmed, incase you're worrying.

Nice smell of classic space here! I feel like a child and thanks for that! I would be nice to some over and check my Titan - Nuclear submarine V5.0 too! :-)
