McLaren MP4-26
I made a car for those who are bored of my red cars: the McLaren MP4-26
About this creation
Unlike my other cars, this car has exposed studs, because I didn't have enough gray tiles and I wanted to do something different this time. Even though I want Ferrari to win the Formula One championship this year, I decided to build the McLaren MP4-26 because I wanted to build a car that wasn't red. Well, actually I don't really follow Formula One because I've never seen a race on TV. I've only seen some old highlights when Ayrton Senna was still racing and when Michael Schumacher was with Ferrari. I'm guessing that you were expecting my new MOC to be my Enzo Ferrari when you got an email (if you added me as one of your favorite builders), well you were wrong if you thought that! I built this car to be a "warm up" so that I would be prepared to build my Enzo because I took a short break (about two months) from building large scale Lego Cars.

Exterior

The ant's view before it gets squashed!

Details

Those levers that supports the axle stay in place when I play with this car...did you think I'm patient enough to tolerate them keep slipping off?

Interior

The only part that is tiled on this car is the seat because I doubt Hamilton or Button would want to sit on studs for like 3+ hours!

The McLaren pit crew is working on the car after a big race.

Update (5/26/11)
I made the L shaped air intakes more realistic.

Hopefully the Enzo Ferrari will be posted either late this month or early next month.

I like this for it's simplicity and purity of form.. for me, exposed studs do not detract from a larger model. Nice build - would be even better with a uniform grey, but I guess you were short of the right pieces.

Nice McLaren! Who cares about tiles, yeah they make it nicer, but they're just as good without, take my Lotus 79, if think it looks good without, but again, really nic McLaren!

I like the simplicity of it, while you managed to still make it detailed and accurate. Nice work, keep it up!

Pretty great shape, some more tiling would have been nice, though.

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Nice job. The overall shape is very good. I really like the side pods and rear wing with DRS. McLaren's are like buses - you wait for ages then two come at once! I have just posted one!! really strange.

Simple style but very nice. And itīs not a problem if you had not enough bricks in the same colour. I like to see good improvisation.
