I actually built this in 2009, but revisited the project and completely rebuilt it in 2010. This is a loose replica of the prop radio from Gilligan's Island. The actual radio is a modified Packard Bell AR-851,an eight-transistor AM radio with an added telescoping antenna to make it more "radio-looking". (...and yes, I know it says TEAC. Packard Bell would be too long to write in tiles. I used a little creative license).
Today this model is on display in a tribute to the TV show on a private island in the Bahamas after being purchased by the illusionist and Gilligan's Island fan, David Copperfield in the summer of 2010.
