SMB Mjolnir is a new addition to the growing Swiss fleet. As they don't have already capships to protect their large cargo fleets, lots of fighters were manufactured. Fighters can dock to the merchant ships, and when needed - block incoming smaller ships. But this solution, while works perfectly against small groups of pirates, is not worth anything when hostile capship threats the convoy. Fighters won't even scratch it. This is where Mjolnir enters - with its massive payload of 8 heavy bombs (any type), and additional missile banks, wing of these can easily penetrate cruiser's shields and devastate its weapons. However, the bomber itself - while acceleration is quite acceptable even for a heavy fighter - is clumsy at best when it comes to turning. Even worse, it has no turrets, making it a juicy and safe target to hostile fighters. Thus, protection of Baselard-class fighters is essential.

"It reacts slower than a zombie slug, turns like a potato... but hell, who cares - I didn't even notice that triad's bullets harmlessy bouncing off bommer shields!" -Elen Hibnerley, Mjolnir pilot after its maiden battle.

It's awesome in every aspect...but the name. not that it's a bad name, Mjolnir is an awesome name. but Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor, sounds like it should be a capital ship or something big. Awesome ship though.

Wow. Very nicely designed. I guess nothing smarts more than Thor's Hammer huh?

Delightful. The name perplexes me a bit - as part of the swiss fleet, it is odd that it has a name from nordic mythology ;-) That doesn't detract from the ship, of course.

i agree with bax! where did you get that minifig?^^... no actully the reason i took one smiley out is because of the overexcessive amount of weapons...its just too much for me^^ but the rest of the ships is , as usual, really great

This is your best Swiss Fleet MOC yet. Great job! The design is very unique and the clean lines are fantastic. Keep 'em coming. A weapons officer would be a nice touch...
