RENFE 141 MIKADO
The series of locomotives 1-4-1 was named popularly Mikado immediately after the sale in 1897 on the part of The United States to the Nippon Railway. The Mikado had enormous success in the whole world. More than 10000 constuyeron for the North American railroads. They were used by the Renfe between 1953 and 1975, year in which one left the use of the steam locomotives. She was, together with the Federation and the Santa Fe, one of the most typical in the railway Spanish landscape, in Spain they have managed to circulate 297 locomotives Mikado with separated tender. Leaving apart 55 locomotives Mikado acquired by the Company of the North before Renfe's establishment, the rest, 242, they were acquired from 1953. The last locomotive of steam in commercial normal service that officially circulated in Spain was a Mikado, her 141F-2348, that was extinguished on June 23, 1974 on Vicálvaro's station by the Prince at the time of Spain.
