Queen Anne's Revenge
Galleon
About this creation
I did some modifications on the official set.
What I am most proud of is the arched balcony on the stern, something typical for the ship but the set didn't have it.
I suppose you probably have to own the set to have a full understanding of what changed as it looks a lot like the set.
Nevertheless, I wouldn't post this if it were just some small modifications. I litterally built a new ship using the same parts and some extra.

Queen Anne's Revenge is a cool set, lots of bones and skulls. I think there's too few dark brown in it considering the prefab hulls are darkbrown I think they should offer a decent amount of darkbrown bricks to enable you to use the hulls for some more detailed ships.
Another thing that struck me is that there are only three cannons, I think it should have four atleast !
I did preserve 4 cannon ports on each side though.

When I started rebuilding the hull I tried to infuse some elements of the Skull's Eye Schooner such as the sliding turntable cannons and the broadside reinforcements.
I didn't succeed in the working rudder, partially because the new prefab hulls don't have those handy holes.
The only thing I kept from the original set was the upper section of the stern. I lowered the cabins floor and added ladders.
I also added a dack in front of the cabin.
I did some changes on the bow as well, I tried something new for the headrailing and added some detail around the first mast.
I hope you like it, I was going to keep a record of every extra piece I added to the set but I lost track of it, sorry.

I don't have the brick capacity to build a QAR equal to my Black Pearl, besides, most of it would be a boring build as those two ships have identical hulls (QAR has some dark red painted on it)
It would be great if I could just "copy" and "paste" my Black Pearl so I can rebuild one of them into the QAR.
Another solution would be making my Pearl modular so I can easely change it to the QAR and back again but I wouldn't know what to do with the color difference on the side, the red zone :S

Quoting Deus Otiosus Excuse me not reading the past comments regarding this matter, but the theoretical possibility of modularity would be perfected by making the dark red part a part of the changeable module.
perhaps, the dark red is part of the section of teh ship that needs to be a solid construction so it might get problimatic when I want to make that modular. Either way, my new Flying Dutchman has priority over the QAR ;)

I'll do my best ;) In the meantime you could check out Swash Bucklers' version, superior to mine http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/281440 Not really in proportion to my opinion but it's the best version I've seen so far.

The big difference with the Flying Dutchman and Black Pearl is that this is a heavely modified official set. It isn't as impressive as my bigger ships ofcourse but it consumes less parts ;)

I love it, but I just cannot really tell the big differences between this and the official set, probably because I don't have it yet.

I like it of course there are some missing features .The part I don't like is the hull is to bulky and makes the stern look awkward.I to have upgraded my QAR and have used your idea of the balcony at the back and have added other features as well I hope soon to join Mocpages.I do admire your creative genius

Hmm, this is nice. This is a lot more movie accurate than the LEGOŽ version. I really like the curving balcony railing, although I'm pretty sure it isn't made of skulls. There are a few minor details missing; such as the crow's nest on the bow, and the chains hanging from the bowsprit towards the back. Great job anyway Sebeus, keep up the good work!

The modifications on this set make it so much better than the Lego version. this set, along with most of lego's theme sets, is inaccurate to the real thing. I love the detail on the railings on the bow and the stern detail. Great job!

great modifications to an inaccurate set by lego. I think you could have built the staircase out of blackbeard's cabin way better. i dony have a picture to show you but if go to this link at 0.41 you'll see what I am talking about.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szUEkiRPQwQ

Quoting swash buckler Way better than the original/official that was very inaccurate design- still you could've added some more gold to the stern and little sails or at least that tiny "mast/pole" on the very front of the ship are still lacking- in fact that flag was there not on the mainmast see here:http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110508185908/pirates/images/4/44/QARfastsailing.jpg and here: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qPBDe0p6a4c/TUvor6qN-yI/AAAAAKE/kffc4YOzY14/s1600/POTC%2B4%2BStranger%2BTides%2BQueen%2BAnnes%2Brevenge.jpg you know what i mean- that where the flag is..... I should receive this ship soon so i can do moc from QAR- too bad it has not enough sails for accurate version.... in fact it has one useless jib(triangular sail) since QAR doesn't have such a sail on the front- only in the mizzenmast dunno why TLG added it
Thanks, I made this before I saw the movie but now I did and I'm aware that it still is quite inaccurate. Like the balcony doesn't even have skulls in it :P I'm a bit lazy to make costum sails now, besides, those sails that came in the set are awesome, you'll like the QAR, I hope you make a great version too

Quoting omega sniper (rich) i must admit, you have made sweet modifications made. however, if you knew about the pre-fabricated hulls, bad flag, and over all dissappointment of the set, why did you spend $120.00 USD for the set?
Mysteries of life... :P nah, I really wanted one of the new ships which was either Brickbeard bounty, imperial flagship or Queen Anne's Revenge, all of them have those hulls and flags, I chose QAR because of its nice sails, multiple skeleton parts, black cannonports and the minifigures.

Quoting Steve Ward hey! i recently bought and built QAR and was trying to figure out how to build a level to create a deck, as you've figured it out. what size plates/flat pieces did you use? iv just ordered several 4x12 plates. very nice mod btw!
4x12 plates are ideal, I was out of those so I puzzled other plates in each other

Those are some very nice modifications your did. The origial is okay, but a bit boring. I like your crow's nest and your stern very much. The only thing left that could be improved is the very cheap looking flag, especially compared to the fantastic looking sails.

i dont like the QAR that lego did come out with, to less cannons and way to diffrent to the originaly ship, but you managed to make it better, and alittle more realistic, lego should had released a QAR there did look something like this insted, and i have a suggestion to your 2 ships in one problem, one side of the hull black the other darkred, then left side would be the pearl and the other would be queen anne , keep it up =)
