Unintended Consequences Part 1
In the spirit of the story of G.A.I.A., I start this chapter thus.
About this creation
Captain Kodura Hethel
Personal Log
Date: REDACTED

Along our intended route to deliver a cache of messages and data, the 'Defiant Justice', a courier field frigate for GAIA, made an unusual discovery. A derelict wreckage of some sort not too far off our bow. The unusual white and red hull paint, chipped and charred as it was, didn't match any of the forces known to GAIA. In addition to the wreckage, there were the remains of several small single occupant craft, lending to the idea that this had once been a fighter tanker of some kind.

While boarding parties were sent aboard the wreckage to check for survivors and to salvage information as to what the wreckage was, scanner crews were busy studying the fragments and recreating a digital version of what the ship must have looked like. Crews found on the portside an emblem, red and white on a black background with the letters E S C plaster on it. Underneath was an long number, presumably the ship's ID code, and the name "Austere Gloria".

The AG, as our scanning crew has taken to calling it, appears to have belong to some force that was protecting a convoy of some kind. The boarding crews had managed to salvage some information from the ship's computer core.

In addition, three survivors had been found, two women locked in a sealed closet of some kind, a man in what we can assume was the bridge. The man died minutes after he was found, and one of the women died sortly there after. The other survivor was transfered to the Defiant Justice for medical treatment and has fallen into a shock-induced coma. She was badly burned and had several internal injuries.

Next the scanner crew began the arduous task of reconstructing the fighter fragments as salvage teams now turned their attention to the smaller fragments. By this time, orders had been received for the Defiant Justice to stay put and wait for assistance, due to anomalies in the fragments.

The internal systems are a mystery as they use a configuration that doesn't seem to make sense. The scanner crew finished the scans of the larger ship as well, and now the salvage crew will begin with the AG itself once it has cleared away the smaller craft and debris.

While most of the Data recovered by the boarding crew was fragmented and corrupted, some information has been gleaned from it. The AG had apparently been part of a convoy that had come under enemy attack. The few images that could be pulled showed more red and white ships fighting a much larger black and yellow craft. But most of the other data is either encrypted or corrupted.

MESSAGE TRANSMISSION:
To Vice-Admiral Kurt Helstrom of the Death-Bridge.

Sir, we are still waiting for your reply for our request for aide. Since our last dispatch we have suffered a disasterous test of the fighter that we cobbled together, resulting in a massive hull breach. The technicians say that our fuel systems and those of the craft found at UBZ1a, the designation for the location at which the freighter and debris were found, are incompatable, and that our fuel most likely caused a meltdown to occur, resulting in the crippling explosion. Our Data specialist team report that they have pulled no more significant data than a partial starmap that does not match any that we have on file with out navigation. The only bit of good news that we have at the moment is that the medical staff report that the female patient is showing signs of waking, far sooner than initially thought. We may get our answers yet. Sir, we need help. I know there's a major offensive going right now, but any aide you could provide would be welcome, sir.

Captain Kodura Hethel of the Defiant Justice.

Once the message was away, scanner crew began to pick up a faint sensor image fading in and out of range. We're not sure what it is, but whatever the case, our orders are to stay put, and that's what we're going to do. I only hope our reinforcements make it in time.

Personal Log Entry Ends.

You have an excellent story there, Rabid. I hope to hear more of this later from you. Who knows what the woman knows or what the ship really looked like or what really caused the explosion? Anyway, I kind of feel you on the whole "lack of parts" thing but had I possessed the parts that I wanted for my idea of a capital ship, well, I doubt that even a large warehouse over in Long Beach could store the monstrously huge capital ship that I have in mind to build one day. Yup, when I build, I build big or I go home.

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde Oh, I understand you very well! The reason why I havent built anything bigish, like capital ships, yet is a horrible lack of parts. Sure, my Dromedary freighter and my Excelsior are quite huge, but all parts were bought exclusively for these ships. And that is an expensive thing! *sigh*
Tell me about it. I bought custom orders for several of my AEGAKS, and it wasn't cheap. But if I ever get the chance, I would love to build a full Sector Fleet, and much bigger versions of my main ship designs.

Quoting Parrington Levens hahaha, I remember that SOS. I answered help was on the way, but it looks like it never arrived. I must have words with Kurt... Cool work man, so good to see you start Mocing your story line, and the backgrounds are really selling it, even with LDD builds. Brilliant man, hope to see more...
Thanks. There will be more, that's for sure. I'd use real bricks, but my inventory can't handle building of this magnitude. But I'll see if I can't make the images seem less digital.

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde Awesome piece of work! It is pretty cool to see the great story you've created connected to Pictures. Impressive 3D work and cool photo editing. If everything was made with real bricks, you'd get 6/5, but you'll have to live with 5/5! ;-) ~Cheers
Alas the only reason it isn't made with real bricks is that I lack the parts. That and posing the derelict would have been very awkard.
