With Hand of God and in-car steering. Everthing opens to reveal a detailed interior and engine bay. Front lights pop up too. Check out the door handles - I dont think this technique has been used before. De Tomaso Pantera and I came up with this new technique using the ice skates from the series 4 mini figures. I have taken inspiration from many builders - Nick Barrett, Fred Ottens, Henrick Hoexbroe, Patrick L and Hot Rod to name a few. My second entry for Dan The Man's 3rd Car Contest. Hope you like it :)

@ Harry Thanks :D, I cant remember which hinges I used but I think it was a 2x1 plate with bar connected to the hood and the light itself uses a 1x1 plate with clip. Very simple but works perfectly. There is very little room under the hood due to the steering. @ Thomas thank you so much, I dont have instructions Im afraid, and it has now been dismantled. I could always build you one for a small fee ;)

haha ;) I am planning a bigger technic Bugatti (1:10) so i will use 68.8 x 36 ZR (the bigger of the two I mentioned). I dont have 49.6 x 28 VR - they are a very nice wheel especially in silver. Cant wait to see your new moc. Thanks for the 'like' I cant believe this moc has almost 100 likes!!!

Very clever use of those ice skates. I might have to steal them from my wife's minifig, LOL. I just can't get over some of these very accurate scale models. Maybe one day I can produce something approaching this level of detail and accuracy, but for now my MOC's are firmly grounded in the realm of fantasy. Sent a link to my father in law who is nuts for Corvettes. He'll really dig it! A genuine Porsche beater? Well, maybe until there's a curve in the road, ha ha ha!
  September 18, 2011
Do you know what's the biggest tire and wheel that goes together from these Bricklink stores? They don't have to be from the same store - they can be from both. The links: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=drobin and http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=BrickBuy. Thank you.

thanks for the comment Jesse. Sorry you don't like the studs but that's my preferred style. As Nick Barrett says "dont fear the stud" after all it is made of lego. ;) if you dont like this then check out my Ferrari F40 and technic bugatti which are both studless and smooth ;) Thanks.

Hi everyone. Thank you all so much for your kind comments and suggestions. This was a real challenge especially the nose. It took a week of evenings to build (a few hours a night). I used the cobra's chassis modified slightly. The steering and front lights caused all sorts of problems and i had to compromise looks to allow a good steering lock. I am really pleased with the result. For my next big project am going to try a transformer - wish me luck. :). Thanks again.

NICE! I wanted to do a mid 60s Stingray one year after I got the 8880. The quantity of bricks and other components were ok, but I had a lack of imagination, so the 10 year old "me" couldn't build something like that at the time, haha. Like it? I love it! Instantly recognisable. Your best car yet IMO. Love the front view and the rear, at the side the nose looks a little high but that'll be the steering interfering. Keep those mortal strikes coming :)
