When other ships see it coming, they run and they hide, the Strix shoot's it's cannons and commits nautical genocide!
About this creation
Good morning, afternoon, or evening, viewer. Today we have something quite out of the ordinary- sea-going ships! That's right, we got two! So sit down at my table, put your mind at ease...
Here we have a pre-dreanought-ish ship. I call it the Strix-class. It's got a collection of guns, ranging from big to small. These kinds of ships were made in the days before the all-big gun armament we're all so familiar with in WWI and WWII. Why? Well, that's how things worked back then. It wasn't until the Battle of the Tsushima Straight that it became apparent big guns were best, and that was in 1905. /history lesson
In our little fantasy world of 19th century Diplomats and Legions (long story, not at all related to 16th century Diplomats and Legions ), Koaxiang China and the Union of the Pacific are squaring off with the Western Republic. The Republic, seeking to teach China who belongs in America, attempts an invasion of Taiwan. These ships were present in the ensuing battle, facing off with the enemy's vessels.
So, enjoy my first step into the world I call "Realistic Steampunk," AKA, the late Victorian era. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! What's with the yellow flags, Awe? Well, pretend they are this:
Anyways, heres' the ship:

Here's the whole ship again.

Bow.

Port side.

Stern.

Bridge and mast.

Midship superstructure.

Another overview.

Look at the guns on that thing! Four 12-inch cannons (two a turret), four ten-inch cannons, thirteen 5-inch cannons.

Random photo of legits.
And now, for the modern version! This was made for the real Diplomats and Legions group. The Koaxiang government managed to keep it's hold over most of the army when breaking off from the People's Republic of China, in early 2016, but most of the navy was either sold by the PRC, scuttled by the PRC, or scrapped by the PRC (Caupo knows why). So, a few new ships were ordered. This battleship mixes old-school heavy guns with new-school missile batteries. With heavy AA weaponry, the Strix-class (Maotouying, if you want it Sinicized) is designed to help take out enemy craft and their planes. We know that carriers are still where it's at.

Overview.

Bow.

Port side.

Stern.

Missile launch pads. 22 ship-to-ship (the squares), 12 SAMs (the circles, too bad they don't have those in tile form yet), and various assorted weapons, included the six 5-inch guns and various little AA guns.
The total armament is 22 ship-to-ship missile pads, 12 SAM pads, 16 torpedo tubes, 22 AA guns, 6 5-inch cannons, and 2 12-inch cannons.

Mast with radar and whatnot.

12 inch guns! Because you can never know when those stealth ships will arrogantly move into firing range while sneaking past missiles.

A parting shot.
So, that's my first real adventure into the realm of ships. I think I did pretty well. What to expect in the future days:
-Precipice Chapters 9-??
-More boats
-More planes
-More tanks
-More COP

how'd I miss this? and where are all the comments? Anyway, legitness just took to the seas.
Where is the comment on the commenters? Where are the votes that were rating? They have passed like rain on the mountains... Like wind in the meadow... The days have gone down in Awereich... Behind the hills, into shadow... How did it come to this? |

It's nice to see some more battleships here! Especially a pre-dreadnought, there's not many people here who builds 'em. |

Nice build, the structure of the front is very interesting. There's just a little something that bothers me about the mast, I don't really know if it's the size of it or the flags...Anyways, the steampunk feel is positively strong in this MOC. Add legs to it and then I'll call it pure awesome perfection ! |
