The BT-7 Thunderclap is the trooper's starship in the upcoming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic.
About this creation
My favorite ship from the upcoming video game, The Old Republic, is the BT-7 Thunderclap. It's the starship for the trooper class, and it rocks! So I decided to build it out of LEGOs.

Here is the reference picture from the official website.

The BT-7 Thunderclap
Here it is in landing mode, somewhat reminiscent of the opening shot in the introduction video on swtor.com.

After finishing the ship, I decided to add some functionality to the boarding ramp.

I am really pleased with how the port section turned out. I broke a few rules with some hanging pieces that don't fit anywhere, but you can't tell, right?

A shot of the engines. This is probably the part that gave me the most trouble because the main body is 4 studs wide, but the engines are only 3 studs. That, and finding the right piece for sideways building in my collection was a bit tricky.

A closer view of the cannon. This part isn't as accurate as it could be, but I like the effect.
After spending so much time looking at this ship I've come to the conclusion that it is based off of the Twilight, Anakin Skywalker's ship from The Clone Wars. Although it's kind of like a B-wing, too. What do you think?
This build was a lot of fun. I hope I can make some more of the Old Republic starships, or at least see them start to pop up across the pages. I've only found one other so far, the Corellian Defender by Ian Hege.
May the Force be with you!

Very nice mini! After testing the game, I could easily recognize the ship, especially from the space battle portion. I'm glad you got the engine section right, it was defiantly worth the effort as the view from the rear is what you see a lot of in game. |

WOW! You really captured the look of that ship. I didn't think it could be done so well on such a small scale. I'm very impressed with your abilities. If you get a chance, please drop by my Flying Rhino and leave some advice. |

I know your name on there, that's how I founf out about this. And also, that's too bad you ain't gonna play, you saw the new trooper armor progression yet? It's beast. I may not play either, monthly paymentand all, but I may convince my parents to pay for me until I can get some steady paying chore or something. I hope so, this game looks awesome. |

Quoting Commando Charge
Ths is awesome!! are you going to play the trooper as well or are you gong to be a different class? I'm Cassesus Fett on the game site btw.
I'm actually probably not going to play. I spent bank on the Saga Edition Roleplaying Game, so I am sticking with that. But I just can't help but to feast my eyes on The Old Republic updates. If I did play, I would totally be the trooper. (Gaiel Paraak, btw) |
