Christening of the HMS Hyperion
The Hyperion is the first Jörmungandr class vessel in the Arak'tak Psy Navy. Because it is the launching of the first of the Jörmungandr class a ceremony was held to celebrate this historic event.
About this creation
Arak'tak Psy is a harsh world completely frozen over with a thick layer of ice. The world started out long ago when intergalactic space travel was in its early stages as a prison world where political enemies and trouble makers were left as a way of cleaning out the prisons and not technically killing them, thought the harsh environment claimed many. The inhabitants learned to survive the arctic planet starting a colony and eventually moving under the thick icy crust. Underneath the thick layer of ice were vast unfrozen oceans and a few land masses that are only visible from the surface as volcanoes. Today the Arak’takians live in underwater cities away from the frozen surface and main form of transport is submarines. The national color of Arak’tak Psy is orange and is displayed proudly on their officers and military vehicles.

Here we see the Prime minister accompanying the young royal couple to the ceremony.

The young royal couple Tolmir and Ailnwen Ichaang newly inherited the throne after the death of Tolmir's father.

The Prime Minister Alfred Pondash and the Planetary Ambassador Iamer Testly also showed for the occasion.

The royal guards with their ceremonial Cantove Swords.

The Arak'tak Psy Marine Captains.

Standard Marine infantry. They don't wear the orange makings symbolic of the Arak'tak Psy leadership.

Heavy gunners and snipers.

A shot of the armed forces together.

The Arak'takian assassin and hard-suit. The hard-suit sports four legs instead of the usual 2 for better traction over icy terrain.

On to the Jörmungandr submarine. These subs were designed to break through the thick layer of ice covering the planet to attack and drown invaders.

Here the repulserlifts are visible, but more on those later.

The cockpit.

The sub can function on dry land as a hover tank. this brings us back to those repulserlifts.

The main cannon can rotate 360 degrees.

The Jörmungandr class submarine was designed as the main battle tank of the Arak'takian military, functioning both as a nimble attack sub and as a powerful hoverer tank in land skirmishes.

This shot was because I originally forgot to include the pilots.

4th wall: This is for the Empire of Planets group (E.P.) the troop’s primary color is white because the planet is arctic so it’s for camouflage, and so I could use clone armor. I got stuck with the color orange not by choice, (not great arctic camo) but I’m making the best of it, and it does look good on the sub. The idea of a submarine having a tank mode was really fun to design, keeping it smooth and steam-lined while having a hided turret. If I had more than just this weekend I probably would have tried to make it studless oh well. I’m looking forward to expanding on this idea with larger subs to fill other purposes in the military. When I have more time (two more weeks of college).

Quoting Michael Rutherford Shawn. The little kit with the globe is a winner! The globe is totally cool and the bottles have little ships painted on them. It's money well spent! Plus, maybe the royal couple can use the bottle to launch another sub? These subs look like pack hunters. Like piranha. Attack!
Thanks for the tip on the set, I will defiantly look into that one. If my schedule allows it this summer the royal couple will be pretty busy launching subs.

Quoting Michael Rutherford The detailed shots of all the dignitaries did not really enhance the viewing experience for me. It seemed totally unrelated to the vessel itself. Maybe a dio that featured them breaking a bottle on the nose of the vessel? As for the sub itself...Sublime! That turret, back and up? Very slick! I found the overall shape, and even the operators compartment to be really cool. An intricate build, but with good results. Attack.
Thanks for the comment, I agree that this could have easily been 2 MOCs. The main purpose was to show off the dignitaries and army, however I don't like just showing off mini figs and I wanted a build in there too. I do like the bottle idea, didn't even think of that. Of course that means I'll need to go out and buy one of the new Pirates of the Caribbean sets to get a bottle.

Quoting Dr. HappyBaboon , PhD Fantastic! the slide-back pop-up cannon is a great idea. the whole sub has great lines, and those white technic flaps on the bottom are well instigated, as well. Keep on brickin'!
Thanks, I don't do those often, but I'm glad it's a popular feature.

Quoting Cody G Awesome hardsuit, and the sub is great too!
I'm glad everyone likes the hard-suit, I now have more respect for people who make those, it was tough getting something that small to be pose able and look good.

Quoting Zane Houston holy cow! everything here is awesome. I love the storyline that goes along with it, it adds a lot to the already amazing build. The hard suit is very intimidating, and you had a very nice usage of parts throughout (especially the samurai helmets). The submarine is very sleek and strong looking. The main cannon really surprised me when it popped out, I love how you made it blend with the rest of the sub, yet it's functional and can rotate. Amazing work!!
Thanks man, I've never built a hard suit before so that thing took hours and plenty of redesigns to get right. The skull mask was an accident, originally it was going to have a regular space helmet. The 4 legs came about because I was never happy with any of my 2 leg designs, but I think it worked out in the end. Thanks for the detailed comment.
