Ratchet (Autobot Medic)
Ratchet is Chief Medical Officer for the Autobots, often risking his own Spark to tend to the injured in extreme battle conditions, yet he is also a very capable warrior especially in defence of the patients in his care. I wasn't very happy with the chest detail on Ratchet, so I have been working on getting a more accurate look.

Quoting Bailey Paradine Awesome! I have tried to make a transforming version of this figure several times but have failed. Do you have any advice?
Yep, Build a rough frame of the bot first, in this case, it should be noted that Ratchet's legs have three folding sections rather then the normal two like you or me. and the feet should fit into the space where the driver's cabin would be. The chest section is mostly hollow, especially underneath to account for the arms which will fold in sidewards on themselves in Alt-mode. Once you get the approximate dimensions of the bot right, fold the framework into the approximate shape of the vehicle mode, fix wheels into the most logical places for the vehicle mode then the real fun begins as you get to work on the covering, fine detail etc. Just work on the rule of thumb that each component should be designed to perform two functions...and eventually, through perseverence (and admittedly lots of trial and error) you should get a result that you should be happy with. Hope this helps amigo, happy building! ;)

Quoting Tyler Fletcher Great build! If it weren't for the ill-detailed chest, I'd give it a 5.
To be honest I agree with you about the chest design, Ratchet will be in for some surgery in the not too distant future. ;)

Quoting Hun-grr Terrorcon Hm..... (Deep thinking) I should say: GRRRREAT! But you could try to work some more on the chests of your designs. Say, how about you make a DOTM character! It will be very popular since the movie is coming out soon! And Mech-Tech ;p
Hmmm, to be honest I do agree with you about the chest designs, and I do intend to refit a few of my bots at a later date, at the moment though; I am concentrating on the remaining Decepticons from the first film. (although Sentinel Prime is on the cards too. ;)
