These are some updated houses for the village at Fort Brighton.
About this creation
These village houses are to replace the houses that will eventually be integrated into my Fort/Port Brighton MOC. I felt they were detailed enough to stand on their own page.
The houses originally designed for Port Brighton (see my Fort Brighton East MOC page) were colorful, but structurally boring. I always envisioned the houses as tightly packed- like many European port cities- so they were only structurally different on the front and back of the houses. I tried to do a few different things on those old houses, like use lots of different colors and making the window framing distinct to compensate for the fact that they were all basically square and only decorated on two sides. Ultimately they were too small, exaggerated in color and had boring roof lines... too boring to be in Port Brighton.
These new village houses are larger, more color accurate and a few are designed to be on corners of a street so I could design heavily on three sides of the structure. It really makes a big difference!
