hi mark! as you might have suspected from my work, i love comics! ever since i could read, then, i started to read them in 'original' versions [english] i ve read batman, superman, and many others, the 'hardcovers' where my fav in my last years of comics, and honestly, where i think you stand with this now!...a feat!!! it looks professional, and gorgeous! i can really appreciate your combo here!!! it s fantastic that you decided on the riddler! while not my fav bat villan, he s up your alley somehow, as i find that you re quite brilliant mark, if anyone can pull this next level...it s you!!! fantastic work! good luck mark!!! |

Okay, so criticizing an artist probably is a bad idea, and I may be completely wrong about this, but here goes: The skyline shot is driving me crazy because although the sunset is behind the buildings on the horizon, the light on the foreground structures is coming from behind the viewer. Now this could be from some other light source, but it's tinted as if to suggest that it's coming from the setting sun. Either this is a case of conflicting directional light, or there's some really good reason that I'm not getting. |

Great mini city-scape! The one technique part used as a crane in the background is simple yet effective. Oh, and I love the brick walls in the warehouse! |

Very good use of image editing. Now I am extremely curious about that secret Brickworld project though. Can you give any hints, or will it remain a total secret until you wish to reveal it?
Gotta keep it on the down low until the Chicago gang gets to see it. But a hint? Hmm...well...okay: It's big. ;) |

Well it's about time! It's not like you're building any 6 foot mocs or having to pack them carefully and ship them to Chicago or anything. Get your act together man! HAHA ~ Chris. |

Photoshop and LEGO, two of my favourite tools, just like yours (apart from oil and acrylic), I suppose. Is there a little bit of Frank Miller or Dave McKean inspiration in your excellent MOC?
Unforunately, I'm not familiar enough with comics for those guys to really have influenced the look (although I know of miller's stuff as a result of the movies from his work). If anything, I just wanted something really dark, but with dramatic compositions, color, and light. Maybe a hint of illustrative artist Frank Frazetta in the mood of the post.

Very nice comic, Mark! Is that minifig custom or Lego?
That's the Lego standard Riddler. I put a glow in the eyes with photoshop to go a bit more "wicked" with his appearance, but other than that, he's straight out of the box.

So if we are trying to solve the riddle, to permeate is a synonym of perforate and also means to spread throughout....so somehow the poor souls were killed by.....some sort of gas that permeated throughout the warehouse?
The riddle is actually one to introduce himself to his would be antagonists - so it's about him, rather than his first crime. To perforate or spread througout in this case means to "riddle." (Like "riddled with bullets" for example). ;) |
