KUP, G1 Autobot War Hero
"This reminds me of the time....." Kup always has a war story!
About this creation
Here perhaps is the first transforming Lego Autobot Kup MOC on the net, created to add to the G1 season three gang I have already immortalized in Lego bricks. I wasn't a big fan of the original 80s toy, nor a big fan of he recent incarnation so here is my take on him; a Cybertronian army vehicle! As usual this MOC transforms without removal or addition of parts (except his rifle)and is to scale with my other car size legoformers. In robot mode I tried to get him to look like his G1 animated counterpart. It was also a challenge because I only used Buish-Grey bricks as the main colour yet I don't have many of them. Please check him out, rate and comment!

Cheers and happy building, BOYZWITHTHEMOSTTOYZ!

Quoting Captain Vortex It's very good, but the only thing missing is Recoil and a cy-gar.Otherwise,very awesome!

There's lots to like about this design but I'm going to pick on the head, the lower legs and the shoulder transformation. Vehicle mode is maybe a tad blocky but still better than either of the toys - great stuff again!

Excellent job on Kup. The robot mode is really on point. I'm really impressed with the use of parts to really get his vehicle mode look. It's really on point

I love the facts that you recreated a fav character and used a rare color. As someone else said, the head came out really good. The alt. mode came out okay, but I'm not a huge fan of G1 Cybertronian models anyway. I have to say, though, I love the robot mode. The smoothness of the legs, the head, the posture - I love it all.

no shortage of bricks here just got a 40 lb shipment!, just short in bluish grey a rarer colour, i don't have a lot of stock of that colour.
Quoting Commander Spencer, Ultimate Bionicle Fan Amazing! I love the head design! Also, if you're in need of bricks, just go to Bricklink.com!

This is really cool! Love the colour and the overall shape of the robot. So many nice details! You've got talent. Thanks for you comment on my Pit Stop Bot! Could i ask you to comment on my Custom Truck ;) Many tanks again De Tomaso.

FYI the windshield was flat then curved b4 I posted it, I didn't like the way it looked so I made it flat again. Thanks for the the thumbs up.
Quoting M<0><0>DSWIM ! Need I even tell you this is an awesome job? Kup is one of my fav characters, but, like you, I'm not a fan of his alt mode. I think your version is a vast improvement; However, I'd like to see the chest/windshield done with curved bricks instead of being flat. I know you worked with a rare color, but that little change would improve the alt-mode, IMO!

sadly or awesomely I have been pacing about one a week. The advantages of my wifes new job is that I have at least 1hr to myself usually more every week night b4 she gets home in reference to when I get in the door. More Lego time!
Quoting Parrington Levens Dude, you are like a factory!!!

He's old and supposed to be thin - that's the look I was going for with the thin arms and thighs and bulkier forearms and calves! Glad you noticed. Glad u like the head I built it months ago but never built the rest of him.
Quoting andros tempest i noticed there were no shots of the vehicle from the rear. To be honest though, the original toy cheated in the vehicle form so you've actually nailed it. Not one of my favourites of your builds if I'm honest. I love the head design, and the way you turned the arms into the front wheels is very nice. But I'm fairly sure Kup really should be "chunkier". The look is a little slim, more of an animated style than G1. But to achieve something in the same scale as your previous designs, which transforms, and gives a 75% toy accurate representation of the character I'd say you did a fantastic job.

Great build! Without the addition of the rifle in vehicle mode it still does sort of resemble the original vehicle. Both modes look great! Super job on the color scheme!
