Micro Battle of Hoth
This is Team Newbrick's entry into the 2011 Star Wars MOCathalon category: "Star Wars Microscale" Enjoy my little tiny model, which isn't actually that little because it couldn't fit in my light tent! I appologise for the picture quality now...

The Battle of Hoth - Microscale

^Here’s a long shot of the whole battle^

Echo Base (from the right)

Echo Base (from the left)

Rebel Worker

^The dark grey stud with the tan stud represents a Rebel Engineer. He is operating the fuel pump^

The Falcon Refuels

^The Falcon is ready to take its crew away from the crumbling Echo Base.^

Han, Chewie, Leia and Luke

^Standing on the snow covered floor are Han, Chewiee, Leia and Luke. Luke and another Rebel Pilot are waiting by a Y-Wing.^

Bacta Tank

^On the right of the Base is the Medical bay. There is a silver Medical Droid operating the Bacta Tank, whilst C-3PO and R2-D2 watch.

Vader Enters the Building

^Vader, 2 Stormies and 3 Snowies march through the door^

Rebel Raid

^The second wave of Hoth Rebels join the battle through the large doors.^

Ion Cannon

^The huge Ion Cannon, although I prefer Family Guys name for it :D.^

Tauntaun, Away!

^ Go Tauntaun, go! There was meant to be a second, but I think it fell off in transit.^

AT-ST Attack

^My heavily illegal AT-ST invades the base…^

Cannons

^Two of those big cannons that appear in the Echo Base set released by Lego.^

AT-AT on the Snow

^In the distance comes the AT-AT, but 4 Snowspeeders are there to take it down (if you can’t tell, the Snowspeeders are the grey cheese-slopes – they look weird but it was the only way to get them in scale with the AT-AT).^

AT-AT Attack

^The little orange and white blob under the AT-AT is Luke hanging on (what do you mean Luke is in this 3 times? I wanted to show all the key scenes but hey, he was nearly in it a fourth time in the Wampa’s cave). The black dome is that little Spy Droid you see at the beginning.^

Echo Base Doors

^This gives you a better look at the walls and the doors.^

Now lets take a look at the Micro Models individually…

Micro Millennium Falcon Right

^The Millennium Falcon: This took me longest by far. The front prong-y-things(?) were very difficult to attach to the rest of the ship, seeing as they are 5 studs wide and the other half is 6 studs wide.^

Micro Millennium Falcon Rear

^All the details including the air vents, the inspection pits and the blue thruster are included.^

Micro Millennium Falcon Left

^Using this model and Wookieepedia, I worked out a scale to build the rest of my Micros in. This was around 1 stud : 4.2 metres.^

Micro Millennium Falcon Left

^Unfortunately, the scale meant that the Snowspeeder should be just over 1 stud long. This was the best I could come up with.^

Micro AT-AT

^AT-AT: This is my favourite Micro. You can’t position its legs, but I forfeited that for detail.^

Micro AT-ST

^AT-ST: Not quite to the same scale but I didn’t want to waste all my time for nothing :D^

Micro AT-ST Side

^The perfect use for those handcuffs!^

Micro Tauntaun

^Tauntaun: He’s a bit heavy on one side so he needs that little white clip to keep him up.^

I made my entry by making loads of Star Wars Micros, and seeing what scene I could fit them into. There was one micro that doesn’t fit but I wanted to show it anyway…..

Micro Sandcrawler

^Jawa Sandcrawler! So much SNOT was used to make this!^

I hope you enjoyed it judges! If you’re not a judge though, you were still allowed to enjoy it ;)

Wow dude I gotta say,you really out did yourself!Lobe all that detail and your use of studs.Very inspiring too,I'm gonna build my own micro scale Battle of Hoth. But yours is excellent! You should add a bit of more stuff at the back, and should've given it more space and it be 100% perfection! Magnificent creation there .Keep on brickin'!!!

Your micro-scale Millennium Falcon rocks my world! Yeah, the sloping vents aren't really accurate, but I think they look better than a 1x2 cheese slope would. Graet MOC!

Quoting A minute ago ... Oh no, I'm doing life size category, but i'm saying ANYBODY competing with you in this category will find it challenging! Great work on this once again.
Ah, I see - I hope they do find it challenging! I think I might be competing in the lifesize category too....

Quoting M<0><0>DSWIM ! VERY cool micro Hoth battle! Handcuffs for the AT-ST's legs has to be the most brilliant idea here! I dig the Falcon, although not a fan of the vent parts in the front and the AT-AT turned out very nicely. Good luck in the contest!
Thanks! I need Lego to make those vent parts without the vents, so just a 1x2 cheese slope.

Quoting Brian Kwon I like it but it just seems... messy.
If it wasn't messy then I wouldn't be able to get all the details in.

Quoting Jag . Great Entry! I love the Falcon, considering how hard it is to attach a 5 stud to a 6 stud in the smallest scale as possible. Cross our fingers and hope we win!
I'm crossig everything other than my fingers (becuase I need them to build with :D).
