MAS typeSTARDRIVE unit 01 "Super Hub" [Working Prototype]
An old MOC takes a new evolution
About this creation
(Just as a quick note, I hate cameras. They always seem to FUBAR the proportions of my models. They're NOT that short and stubby `-` )

*ahem*

The MAS typeSTARDRIVE (Super Transcendental Advanced Rebuild - Drive Reactive Intelligent and Versatile Evolution) is the apparent ultimate form of the Mobile Armor System.

Very little is known about the typeSTARDRIVE units, beyond the fact that there are only two in existence. "Super Hub" is one of them. You may or may not be familiar with the other one.

The following are simulated images of the unit based on known visual and telemetric data:

"Super Hub" in a "Gunbuster-esque" pose. It was seen assuming this pose when it first appeared on the battlefield during [REDACTED].

The backside of the unit is very clean. The boosters seem to be visually identical to those found on the Hub.ZX. They are far more powerful, however.

Somehow, this particular unit is able to spawn drills. We theorize it may be due to either an internal space-time manipulation engine or the unit's AI watching too much Gurren-Lagann. We can only speculate where its fist goes when it generates a drill. It may very well convert its fist.

... Who rendered this pose? That's just silly, this is real life not Gurren-Lagann! Where's those pink slips...

The cockpit. When "Super Hub" opened its own cockpit to [REDACTED], it was proven that this unit seems fully able to function all on its own. The AI must be incredibly amazing. If only we could get our hands on it.

The head retains the traditional side-ornaments, but with a trans-orange flair.

Leg detail. I don't know about you, but I think these are some pretty *cough*sexy*cough* legs. Huh? Nothing! I said nothing! Nevermind!

Arm detail. Pretty decent arms, I suppose. Now.. those legs I mentioned.... Erm, nevermind!

Creator Commentary
Not finished. Still tweaking things. Felt like showing it off anyway.

Going to replace the elbows with ball joints and modify the torso front some more.
Currently, the STARDRIVE units have two positions in the ZX Taisen storyline, at the very end and in a "Shin Gekijoban" storyline rebuild I thought up 2 seconds ago, heh.

One of these days, I'll get a proper photo shooting backdrop and a proper camera. Until then, enjoy horrible photos :)

Quoting Neil Dynamo Yeah, the Izanami has exactly what I was talking about. It order to make them appear thinner you need to build the "bicep" over the rotating disk part a bit, or position the socket a stud or two further inside the torso.
Mhmm, but the cockpit is already cramped up enough and if I sunk the sockets in further, a minifig would probably have an even harder time fitting in. Furthermore, I'd end up losing the shoulder socket armor. If I redesigned the torso, I could probably fix that. Alternatively, I could make the legs longer as Rabid/Jason pointed out, but at this point I don't think I want to. I like the legs how they are.

I think he's refering to the style that I use with my M Frame AEGAKS and their shoulder joint. But I think that might make the unit too wide for its current proportions. Though longer legs would offset it. ^Blub^

Quoting Neil Dynamo Very nice design, the legs are quite cool but I don't think they're too short; I think they stocky but sturdy look really suits it, especially since it forms drills; it's like a robo-dwarf or something. The only thing I can think of as a suggestion would be to modify the shoulder joint slightly, make the male section of the clicky joint go straight out to the side, then build so it goes down from there. A tiny change provide a HUGE ammount of flexibility on the arms and it shouldn't change the look very much at all.
If I'm thinking of the right thing, I do believe my Izanami (and technically the DaiVarion WIP) uses that kind of shoulder joint. When I get the parts, I may try that on Super Hub too. What I'm afraid of, though, is that it might make the shoulders a tad too wide. We'll see! :D

Quoting Rabid Goldfish Very nicely designed armor. A definitely improved version. I would recommend longer legs and arms though. They look slightly stubby. Overall, very good work! ^Blub^
The stubbiness is my camera curse, heh. I'll agree that the legs are a stud or two too short (upper and lower legs are 3-stud Exo-Force joint bricks), but the arms are too long if anything. I'm keeping the arms that length, though. I have my reasons, hehe :P

Quoting CEO Luiz Camargo WOW Keith! The MAS is getting better and better. I think you should smooth the arms a bit, maybe using the same technics used in the lower legs, but upside down. And I see thet you are a leg addicted as I am...
Glad you think so! And, I agree. I'm still tweaking the armor and arms, trying to find a nice mix of sleek and iconic. I'm also tempted to completely redesign the torso but we'll see.
