Riverside Cottage
I have always loved castle and medieval life....since i don't have enough bricks for a massive castle yet, here is a taste of medieval life.
About this creation
As a newly awakened MOC'er from my dark ages, one of the builders that I really like is Rocko from Flickr. I was inspired by his Waterfall House, so here is my 3rd MOC...the Riverside Cottage

I also really like what Luke Watkins(aka Derfel Cadarn) does with the stone look for his buildings, and that is what I was going for with the bridge....kind of a cobblestone bridge.

hmmm looks like a bit of a rocko rip off, but we all take inspiration from different places...

Great house, but the landscaping needs some work (not the river). It just could be more detailed...

Love that room built over the water, and it's great what you've done with a single 32x32 baseplate. Mighty impressive considering you'd just come out of a dark age!

Quoting Thoy Bradley Hey Kayne, really nice work here. This build has a very clean feel to it. Also as many others have said, those brown cheese slopes for the hand rails is really effective. My next build will be a while away as Bricklink takes a back seat to my wedding. ~Thoy
Thanks Thoy! Congratulations on the marriage. My next build is a ways out as well...after finishing the Riverside Cottage I went out of town for work for a while...then I got Mono, Strep Throat and 2 ear infections. Needless to say I've been basically incapacitated for a month here!

All around great moc! You used the pieces perfectly especially those cheese slices. The only thing is that the tree in the back could use a few more leaves.

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy This could be a really nice official LEGO® set. I believe what Deus means is the banister and he's right, that's a very cool idea (consider it stolen by me, hehe). A black pinnacle or a sand green roof would have been perfect, but that's not too important.
I agree, sadly my wife banned me from Bricklink for a while. I guess I was too frivolous with the Bricklink for too long!

It's always nice to see a builder tackle projects appropriate for his/her collection. Considering castle is one of the most piece-ambitious categories, you have struck a nice balance of colors while retaining a strong composition. I look forward to seeing more.
