Due to the fact that this is my 10th alternate of Creator set 5867 Super Speedster, this GT can somewhat be considered a Special Edition.
About this creation
So what to build from set 5867 after already 9 other alternatives? Well it's probably time then to do something special. So why not try to create a sport coupe? Especially Gran Tourers are very difficult to render in bricks on such a small scale due to their sophisticated style and elegance. Even though I knew exactly how I wanted the curves to look, I had to start at least 5 times all over, because I was not happy with the direction. Once I had tackled the overall shape, I adjusted details about another dozen of times, before the result was satisfying. Hope you like it too...
An overview of the model from the back.
The long and curvy front end. Most GT's are front engined and rear driven.
To compensate for the heavy front, a small spoiler is attached to the rear to increase downforce.
GT's are well known for their classic shape with a small coupe. This one actually has a transparent roof.
Doors can be opened too!
The side contour was a real pain on this scale with limited bricks.

I bought the 5867 set to make this car. I got every part except the interior figured out and was too fragile IMO and scrapped it for now so I'll see what my imagination comes up with.
It's a great set with a lot of parts :)
Love this car though, very clever techniques and looks fast |

It even looks great upside down! At this point, I'm not even considering what my creations look like underneath. |

Wow! Such a detailed creation with limited pieces - you even managed to make most of the places of the car SNOT! This is so far my favorite creation ever!!! I just might get this set just to ATTEMPT a creation as AWESOME as this. 5/5 ;) |

Quoting Cédric Picher
I noticed that you did alternates of vehicles, planes and robots, but you never did alternates of houses. Is there a reason?
Oh, and I like the car; pretty nifty!
Thanks for the comment! No real reason why I haven't tried houses. It just happened to be that I gave away as presents the house sets I had and ended up without one myself. Still like to try one in the future... |

Nice car. For working in 8 wide, you did it justice. |

Love the combination of transparent roof and white pillars, and the doors' cutout, they make the already elegant (and somewhat aggressive) side profile even better. |

Fantastic work, another great alternate design. You are probably unawares generating business for this Lego set. After seeing how many uses the pieces have for an extremely wide range of car models I'm convinced that I need to buy that set. Lego probably couldn't have any better way to advertise a set than having you build alternates to it. Destroy! |

I see you really enjoy building over and over again from the same bricks. I'm surprised you still enjoy the challenge. I know I'd move on by now. Still it's great to see all those wonderful models built out of the same set. |

Love it. This is def one of my favourites the front and bonnet is so good. Thank god you don't work for Lego anymore - if you did I would have to buy most of your models and I would be broke all the time :). Another excellent alternate |

One of the best of the 10 models !!!
You have no more excuse not to release the 5867 IDEA BOOK now ! Takes pictures while un-building the model, reverse picture order, go to Photoshop, build a PDF and send it to lulu.com and sell it ! I'll be the first buyer ! ;-) |
