Absolutely beautiful. Are the hands and numerals/face markings stickers, or pieces? I bet this fools most people who casually observe it, if you don't point out to them it's Lego, eh? - Huss Q.

Seeing this in person was simply amazing. It is a truly beautiful work of art and something I found I just stared at for ages and ages. It doesn't look like Lego, it looks like you have carved it out of wood. Exquisite.

I saw this at the Wheeling Convention, why have a real cuckoo clock when you could have a lego one? Great stuff!

Totally agree with Heath and Dennis. This was one of the sleeper hits at Brickworld. I heard many, many great comments during the public days. People were really amazed it was made using LEGO. Now you have to motorize it, make it actually tell time, and have the Cuckoo sound for next year. ;-)

I loved seeing this at Brickworld, this is one kind of thing I absolutely CANNOT build, with all of the lovely details and colour transitions. This thing is really awesome.

I hate to agree with Heath on anything, but he's absolutely right here. The use of the minifig legs to give it a hand carved texture and the way you shaped the weights are just a few examples of how this is all kinds of awesome! The award was well deserved!

That is F'in AWESOME! Love the details brother! This was definitely a highlight of Brickworld that was a bit more downplayed. Though you did win the Judge's choice for that and the tower, so at least the judges caught it!

Wow. This thing is SO detailed, Kevin. By the way, is it also a completely functioning clock, Kevin, or is just an MOC of a clock? If it were a clock, then you SO have to tell The LEGO Group about this little beauty because people will absolutely LOVE buying this as a LEGO set.

>(o)_____///// This is what came to my mind when I saw this: GOOD NIGHT FAREWELL There's a sad sort of clanging From the clock in the hall And the bells in the steeple, too And up in the nursery An absurd little bird Is popping out to say coo-coo (Coo-coo, coo-coo) from the SOUND OF MUSIC

I'm in Germany right now for vacation, and I can say that this creation captures the essence of the Black Forest. I really like the minifig leg use and the axes at the top, and overall, a very clean and vintage build. Great job!

Fantastic rendition of a German classic. My family here in the States have owned a few, gifts from my German family (that and Hummel figures). I even made it to the Black Forest on one of my trips, a truly beautiful region. And speaking of Schwarzwälder Kirsch, I could really go for a big piece of my Oma's right now! Have fun at BW, I'm sure it will historic!~H

Brilliant work Kevin! When you set-up at BrickWorld, be prepared with a dollar value in mind, or prepare to say 'no' because between the thousand or so attendees and the many thousands of people walking through on public day...somebody is gonna ask to buy this beauty.

See, now that is what i like to see on MOCpages. If I ever had the time, i would love to try to build something liek that, only ti actually works, with a big penjalum(spelling fail). I have made one that worked, its not on here, but it wasn't decorated or anything. It had the whole mechanisim exposed... But still, that is an awsome design.

Great work Kevin! Along with Keith's advice, be ready to tell people how many pieces are in it and how long it took you to build. Then inflate those numbers when you figure your price ;-)

Hehe, I'll keep that in mind - I wouldn't have problems at all, selling this one (if the price is right, HEHE). I have to admit, that I know that Americans like the German cuckoo clocks, I've seen a lot in the Black Forest searching for them and thought: "Would be a great idea for your personel display on BW" :-)

I usually don't comment in German, but in this case, I do, just to avoid moderation when I tell you, Kevin, what I think of your clock, hehehe. Das Ding ist einfach genial! Ich hatte es ja schon vorher gesehen, aber es ist und bleibt spitzenmaessig, egal, wie oft man sie sich ansieht. Man, das waere was fuer mein Wohnzimmer. Ich glaube, der blanke Neid nagt gerade an mir, hehehe.

Nice nuts, pine nuts that is, great use of legs and loving the color choice, you could almost mistake it for a real clock. I'm still waiting for the cuckoo to come out but the clock has stop, please could you wind it back up so I can see the birdy. LOL
