The Tripod machine featured in Steven Spielberg's 2005 "War of the Worlds" brought fear and destruction to the human race. To be able to move very quickly across varied terrain, its spindly legs were a core design feature with an alien feel. I have tried to replicate that look and design in this model.

The whole model can stand quite stable on top of its thin, flexible legs. This has been achieved by the parts selected, as well as by keeping the weight of the model down to a bare minimum and paying close attention to the center of gravity. Yet, the model itself is very strong and not as fragile as it may seem to appear. The "head" can also rotate easily on a central axle, allowing you to position the Tripod in a necessary way to vaporize your scared minifigures.

Version 2.1 introduces optional Heat-Ray Weapon arms that can be easily added and removed to the model. These have been carefully designed so that they do not add significant extra weight to the model. Yet, they can be independently positioned and are flexible enough to point them wherever you see something needing to be destroyed. Now you can really vaporize those scared minifigs!

We sell complete kits of this model at www.ichibantoys.com. The kit includes all of the brand-new official LEGOŽ parts needed packaged in polybags, plus a full-colour instruction ebook on CD.
