After building a Ferrari Enzo inspired sports car, I decided to build an automobile based on something a little more down to earth. The Ford Mustang nameplate has been around since 1964 and has inspired car design for decades afterwards. This model is based on the 2011 model, most specifically the GT series.
Not only have I concentrated on trying to replicate the very balanced look of the car, I have also incorporated moving features. Both doors open fully on hinges and "lock" back into place. The driver's and passenger's seats can recline slightly and be folded forwards for access to the rear seats, even the head rests are adjustable. The steering wheel is slightly adjustable. Each wheel can rotate independently and is constructed on a frame that allows a little bit of softness, rather than the rock-hard nature of many LEGOŽ models. And if that wasn't enough, you can easily open up the roof for an unobstructed view of the cabin interior.
This model has been designed carefully with special attention to its strength and rigidity. Even the roof can support significant weight without collapsing or even slipping. This car is sure to provide incredible enjoyment during construction, play, and/or display. If you wanted to, you can even replace the blue shown in the pictures with red, black, white, or any other colors depending on part availability, or maybe even add a stripe down the length.
We sell complete kits of this model at www.ichibantoys.com. The kit includes all of the brand-new official LEGOŽ parts needed packaged in polybags, plus a full-colour instruction ebook on CD.
Very nice, I don't know if the rounded hood is accurate to the real thing but it sure looks cool. A nice creation such as this deserves more pictures. I think it's a bit short, atleast in comparison to its width. Good job
