Originally inspired by the beautiful maroon-colored fire engines of San Francisco, and the fact that I pass a fire station almost everyday in my hometown, this fire engine is a classic modern-American pumper. It is modeled after a Pierce Manufacturing pumper, and features opening cab doors, as well as opening cabinet doors. It can seat four mini figure firemen comfortably inside the cab. And with ample space for all fire accessories needed, this isn't your average LEGOŽ fire engine.

It also features a very basic suspension system which creates a stunningly smooth ride. A ladder attaches easily to two studs on the roof so it can be easily removed and space along the "spine" of the fire engine allows enough room for hose. A splash of metallic silver (or chrome if you can get your hands on it) lifts this vehicle into a new class. A very exciting build with a classy end-result will surely be a highlight for any LEGO enthusiast.

Ample space in the cabinets allows a multitude of accessories and tools to be thrown in. The interior allows four minifigs to sit comfortably, especially the driver with his adjustable steering wheel. And if you need a little local flavor, the dark red elements can be replaced with standard red, yellow, or even lime.

We sell complete kits of this model at www.ichibantoys.com. The kit includes all of the brand-new official LEGOŽ parts needed packaged in polybags, plus a full-colour instruction ebook on CD.
