The Dagger is another 4th generation fighter. Currently a special operations fighter only assigned to top ace pilots and special missions pilots. The ship started out as Syntro Industries' Gamma Project, their entry into the Earth Federation's contract contest for the next generation of standard fighter. However the Dagger Prototype gave a disapointing performance with its mainly heavy weapons, orthodox design and subpar traditional equipment compared to Nova Designs' IRX-350 Sigma "Phoenix", which used more newer technologies and modular adaptability to serve wider roles in the military. Ultimately Syntro lost the contest. Syntro's execs desperate to keep their credibility secretly stole technologies from Nova, namely their C.A.P.S. system which they were still developing at the time, and reverse engineered it into the S.I.I.M. System. Their engineers then retooled the Dagger into a more potent fighter with the S.I.I.M. System as optional equipment. They then resubmitted the Dagger to the Earth Forces for secondary consideration and it was passed in as a special forces fighter for limited mass production. However the Dagger never could prove to beat out the popularity of the Phoenix Fighter since Nova cleverly dissmissed Syntro's treachery and further developed the C.A.P.S. system into a superior weapon that could quickly defeat Syntro's S.I.I.M. System. Before the wars' end the Dagger became a Nova product when Syntro was bought out by Nova.
