The newest warship of the D.F.

About this creation

Following the defeat of the enemy company, the D.F. needed to rebuild after sustaining considerable losses. Two years after the conflict ended, the Rolling Thunder was introduced into the fleet.

At 750 metres in length, the Rolling Thunder is one of the smallest warships in the fleet, with a crew of only 104 personnel. However, ton for ton, the ship is also the most deadly.

The main weapons of the ship are 4 bow facing heavy plasma cannons, 1 high yield photon cannon, 16 plasma torpedo tubes and 4 medium plasma turrets. These are backed up by 3 light plasma turret batteries located around the ship.

For protection, it has triple energy shields powered by an internal shield generator. The hull is composed of 5 inches of titanium plating for further protection.

The high yield photon cannon, similar to that on the Honoured Star.

The 4 heavy plasma cannons.

Towards the top of the ship are 8 escape pods which can hold 13 people each, just enough for the entire crew. The slanted grill below the pods is home to the torpedo launchers.

It's been a long time since I built any D.F. stuff. I considered rebuilding the Honured Star in a re-imagined state, but I decided against that. I'm pretty pleased with the way this ship turned out though, except for the bottom, which is why there are no photos of it. Anyway, leave your thoughts and opinions, if you'd like.
