About this creation
Background
The Battle of the Bulge was also called the Ardennes Offensive, which was performed excellently by the German Army as a suprise attack. The result was a large "bulge", or wedge in the allied advance, and had to be removed if the war was to be ended within a short amount of time. The 3rd Reich planned everything carefully to avoid any enemy detection, meaning only troop movement at night, blocking out enemy spies, and many others. This was the last desperate assault of Hitler, and achieved complete suprise because the Allied Powers didn't expect such a large attack of that size so late in the war. The operation achieved initial success, driving out half of an infantry division and completely destroying the other. The sole tank division stationed there along with the infantry was encircled, and part of it was wiped out with the superior German war machine.
