The search for Tanatloc
After 15 days of sloshing in an unpenetrable quagmire, Johnny Thunder did not believe his eyes when...
About this creation

... the very hidden, the very sacred divinity of Tanatloc appeared suddenly in the middle of the hot jungle mist.
The single view of the strange and shiny statue was like a electric shock in his exhausted body. Both emotions of fierce joy and profound terror completely upset him.

So many days starving, so many hours striving in the moisture and a hostile environment. He had lost his two fellow guides, swallowed by the deep forest. BUT there it was! The lost statue! And, in his body: the famous and unique Ruby, the "heart of Tanatloc". Fame and fortune gathered in one big red stone...

What kind of dangers could still lay ahead? Johnny Thunder took a deep breath: he had only two dry cartridges left in his shotgun. And so many animals to fight...

A small and unpretentious MOC, built in a few hours after a little bet with my girlfriend'son. He wanted to make a jungle with lego and I thought it was possible.
Only one hero could front this jungle: Johnny Thunder! lol
I wanted to know if photographs could "give the effect" of lush vegetation.
Of course, the "statue" provides from an old adventurers'set (1999?)

LOOKING BACK: this is maybe the WORST MOC I've made ^^... As one comment said: kind of "blocky" (really?!! ^^). The challenge is to rebuild it with new technics I've learned from everybody in MOCpages.

Thanks for looking,
That's all, folks!

You're totally right!! I'm happy you noticed this reference comic. I'm an old fan and those four episodes in the Qa's land are my favorite. Thanks for having a glance to my little production. I do appreciate!
Quoting Michael Kringe Hey! very nice scene! PS: do you know Tanatloc from the Thorgal comics?

Thanks for the comments! Yes, you're right: my jungle is kind of "Duplo" blocky! lol I let you imagine the looks of the "fried" fishes... re-lol!! That's the reason why I'm full of respect for guys (and girls) like Kelso, Gugick, Grguric, Bradley, Stafford, etc... Those very skilled builders who make clean builds from a simple vision. After some years of practice! If your have links or pics to well-done jungles, please, let me know. Thanks, again.
Quoting C. Alexander Clay That statue is from Orient Expedition, 2003. (I know this because it's one of the few Johnny Thunder sets I have.) I really like that last shot of Johnny waist deep in the swamp. Your build is nice but perhaps a little blocky, it doesn't quite look natural. Landscapes are rather difficult, but I think you'll have a good thing going if you keep at it.

Suitably redolent of the jungle - impressive given the scale. Nice build.
