Not my first halo creation, but my first posted on MOCpages :) now this is pretty self explanatory. it is, infact, the M-12 LRV. ...But i like to call it the warthog. ...but after a certain Machinima Made by Roosterteeth, its always just looked like a Puma to me...
About this creation
Ah. the warthog. My favourite videogame vehicle of all time :) great fun whether your in the drivers seat or on the LAAT spraying the other spartans and laughing maniacally, it is a classic.
I spent quite a bit of time designing this one and im extremely proud of it. whatever your opinion, it still holds a small place in my heart. I am most definately not that good at greebling, but sinse theres no windscreen that fits the warthogs criteria, and LDD doesnt have a "cut up a star wars mini box like Saber-Scorpion" setting, i chose to use the method of the revolvers and binoculars, which looks quite nice :)
I used another borrowed method for the wheels so that the back and front chasis can swivel together, and it gives it a nice 4X4 feel to it (if only there was a way in which to keep the independant wheel system... oh well.)
A nice size comparison with one of my Crash test dummies, right here. i think the scale is actually preeeeetty close to what it is in the game. though its not quite spartan sized, i think it wont look too enourmous next to a foot soldier.
A shot of the interior. I wanted to squish the seats together as much as possible so as to not have an 8 stud wide monster of a truck. i did this with the good 'ol "2x2 plate with one stud" technique.
Finally, a shot of the LAAT chaingun. i think it worked out okay. the scale seems rather accurate, even after the hours of trying to convince myself it looks okay, cuz sinse i was making it without internet (a thunderstorm) i forgot if the chaingun went higher than the gunners head. i think it worked out quite well, though. :)
Sinse its designed in LDD on the Lego Universe setting, some of the pieces cant be bought from the store, if the model is transfered. These are the pieces you'll be needing if you want to recreate the Pum- ...er Warthog.
All in all, i think the warthogs size and power is well expressed in this Moc. who knows. maybe i'll try again in the future. Until then, leave comments and tear my dignity to pieces if need be. :)
If it where sand green?
