Home Design Gundam : Celestial Gundam
Here it is guys, my first time building using LDD... and I think it didn't get as bad as i was thinking ahah x) I wanted first to rebuild my Ritual Gundam but finally I have made a new one, but still using some ideas of the Ritual. I have also one think to say : Try LDD makes you become addictive to it lol. I have learned a lot building this thing, and I think it was a "test" build that allowed me to discover, and work with, the useful techniques used by Mithryl Dlarix or Thomas Z. on their gundams. I had some issues using the software, I have put some questions at the end of the page, if you could just get a look and answer me, it will be nice :)
About this creation
Ok, let's start. The Celestial gundam is a pretty heavy unit which carries too big powerfull Impulsion Cannons. Like the Ritual, this unit has a very complete drive and propulsion system that allow high speed and awesome maniability.
I have to say that the low part legs design is coming from Thomas Z.'s Sazabi (http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/250405) and the legs/arms frame is from Mithryl Dlarix (http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/273999)
For the people who doesn't know them, check them, their stuff is awesome !!
Over things are from me x)

Now some pictures of the mobile Suit ( The blue transparent things are here to make the boosters "fire"

Front View

Rear View

Side View

Top View

Head. The head, like the waist, could normally rotate but LDD seem to disagree with this idea xD, even if I checked if their were some pieces who could be in the rotation way...

Rear Booster

Leg details

Leg Booster

Wings and Impulsion Cannons Boosters

Shoulder

Now the equipment :

Beam Rifle (It's a thing I have some problem to build lol)

AMI shield, or Anti Missiles Impulsion Shield
This shield could stop all beam shoot, like a normal shield
But this technology allows the shield to send a wave impulsion around the shield perimeter to destoy the missiles who could get too much closer to the mobile suit. This technology have also an inconvenient, it consume a lot of energy and due to missiles explosions, it could seriously damage the shield, which become unusable.

Using AMI system

Missiles Launchers, mounted on the shoulders (allows fast counterattack )

Now the beam sabres

The Beam Sabers are stored onto the belt armor when their are not used
Now let's see what the legs armor hides... x)

Usefull Knee Beam Sabres!!!

Some Pics showing a possible use of the knee beam Sabres (make easier to stop multiple blades, for exemple)

Then, Impulsion Cannon, which can rotate with the wings :

Firing Cannons

The Wind Blast System, a little bit similar to the DRAGOON system of the Stike Freedom Gundam. The mini flying rifles are stored under the wings.

The full Burst Mode!!

I tried to make it fly... x)

Here it is,tell me if you find this cool (or not x)) so don't forget to rate and comment!!!

I've put the instrutions, if you find some "gap" or other things in the model please tell me i will fix it as fast as I can.

PS : Now my LDD use question x)

First, when I try, for exemple, to put a connector peg with knob into a 1x1 brick, I fail. Is it normal? Or maybe an other way to do it exists ? Please tell if you know how to do or if it just impossible x). That is really a shame because it's an inverter technic I'm like to use on my real models.

Then, is it normal that when I make a group with some pieces, some big "freezes" appear when I want to color one piece of this group?

To finish, I wanted to know if you have some "secret tips" for the screenshots, because I think I could improve mine.

Thanks in advance for answering !!!

Note : The front armor has been fixed ( normally), and i've decided to let the head like it is. I try several designs ( including Mythril ones or Thomas ones) and, even if these designs are very close to standard gundam head, they don't go on this model because it loose the "heavy" side of the unit. But it's only my opinion x)

Oh, I Can See This Now. Hmmm, I like this build, it has a nice style, it has aspects of Gundam with a Front Mission feel to it. Nice work on this. Oh, figured I should let you know, I finally lifted my Posting Hiatus.

Quoting Marcus Jackson This is great, I really like the color choice, my only peeve is that the feet seem a bit too small, otherwise this is great, keep the mechs comin'.
Thanks for commenting man!! You're pretty right for the feet, I'm building the Destiny gundam and I've noticed that the feet of a gundam should be a bit bigger, another thing to fix btw. Thanks again!

Quoting Mithryl Dlarix The 00 Raiser won't be 100% done for quite some time, because I'm not just building the 00 Raiser, I'm making the GN Sword III for it, the Raiser sword effect parts for the swords, as well as two variants: the 00 Raiser Condenser Type from the 00 Gundam Movie, and the XN Raiser, which is a huge project unto itself. So, my preview is going to have to satisfy everyone for a while, anyways.
I see that you are very busy and above all motivated!! I'm done with the Destiny body, and I've started an epic(and very long) fight with the wings, I hope I could post it soon.

My bad, my bad. Well, a word of advice--with Gundam-type mobile suits, they generally just have one color per body part (i.e. the shoulders, arms, upper legs, lower legs, etc.) with the exception of the torso. Also, you rarely ever see Gundams in military colors, such as tan, brown or military green. They are usually in bright colors such as white and blue, or in very dark colors, like black or navy blue. I know you were going for an original color scheme for an original design with this one, but it can be easy to mistake (as I did) for other things if the color scheme is not more unified. On a different subject, what was the Gundam SEED Destiny unit you wanted to make?

Quoting Mithryl Dlarix I'm really liking the overall shape of the Gundam, as well as all the features. You really packed a lot of them in there! Great job!. Is the color scheme supposed to be camouflage? If so, its looking great. As far as working with the screenshots goes, I still haven't discovered the secret to getting high resolution shots out of LDD, but I use a program called IrfanView to crop out the unused space and to sharpen all my pics so that that the details stand out better.
Thanks!! The color It's not, camouflage, sorry, it was because I found it cool xD. I will check Irfanview , which seems to be very useful, even if I don't know a lot of things of this picture softwares

Quoting Thomas Z. I'm really impressed at how this was built! The overal MS reminds me of the Justice Gundam and the Windam from Gundam Seed and GSD. Your own Style is showing nicely on this MOC. There are some things you should improve tough later on, let's see: the head, a lot better than what I mostly see from beginner builders but it still feels a bit blocky, you might wan't to try someting similiar to Mithryls or my head designs (I have a few heads uploaded if you're interested), also If you are planning to build this in real lego keep in mind the the possible weight of the MOC (only IF you wan't to build it) like on the wings, try to thin it down as much as possible. The shoulders are ok but a bit blocky. And I noticed that the front skirt amrmor might get in the way blocking the movement of the legs, you should place them a bit further away. But despite these minor things the MOC as a whole is pretty impressive, I think my favourite parts are the rear side of the Gundam and the beam rifle(man you built a better gun for the first try then I could XD) The big rear skirt gives it a a bit of Gundam Sentinel feel to it. About your problems a little help: the peg goes into the knob at first but you have to move the camera and pull the piece simultaniously thet way you can put in deeper to the knob, the "freez" problem is because you either have a weak machine or there are too much pieces to color at once. About the screenshots, I think they are good as they are. Man I talk too much, sorry for the massive wall of text! Anyways great job and keep building! If you need any help, ask me or Mithryl or other builders!
Thanks for big comment!!!, Wall of text are always welcome, and particularlly when they are full of advices like this one lol. First, be sure I will try to change the head, and fix the front armor, but next week ( I'm very busy for the moment) For the peg thing, I still can't do it xD, but I will do without,( more challenge x) ) I allow myself to ask you an other question : When I posted my gundam, due to internet connection problems two pages have been created, and I can't delete the second. When I use the "delete" button, the site redirect me on the page asking email/password, but when I do "ok" it stays on the same page -_-" If you could help me ...
