About this creation
To kick-start the summer, I made two new micro-scale starships, similar in style to THESE . Enjoy.

The shape for this beaut came out of nowhere, I had been trying for months to make a starship of this style in dark blue, yellow, black, with some chrome, until I finally abandoned it. I took up the challenge again yesterday and completed this.

I used an effect on Picasa 3 called "glow", which intensifies the white, which made it seem there is no depth. But I didn't clean/swipe/cut the background out. You can still see the stand in many shots. Just thought that was cool, and if you use Picasa 3, there's a little tip.

After the electricity of the last pictures, these two might look like they have a B&W filter on them.

I wish I had gotten a top view of this speedship.

I finally have more time in my weeks to build, and I expect to have creations out more frequently now. I need a name for this ship style, any ideas? Leave an answer in a comment if you want. I have some ready-built creations waiting to be uploaded, as well as some great ideas for future ones.

I appreciate the time you took to check this out.

Looking at this again, makes me think of a Cylon Raider, but minus those side wings. Might have to borrow some features, but will give credit, of course.

Quoting Matt David These have a really terrific retro vibe to them. Shooting black LEGO on a white background is just about the hardest photography obstacle to tackle in my book.
It was a worry for me, but I think the yellow accents helped out, and I WAS going for a retro look.
Quoting Admiral Hal Kroninger It looks like something out of tron
Spot-on. I was going for a retro style inspired by Tron.

Excellent. These have a really terrific retro vibe to them. Exquisite color use and photography. Shooting black LEGO on a white background is just about the hardest photography obstacle to tackle in my book.

Cool designs, Chief! Great style. If it keeps raining like this, I bet we'll all get a lot of things built this summer!

Micro-ships?? I agree with Connor they are very swooshable ( what a great word). The second is my fav - it reminds me of an eagle. I want to make one!

I too rejoice in the arrival of summer vacation. The lines on these ships are quite nice, and they are more than a bit swooshable. Although I really like the color scheme of the first one, I do rather like the almost bird-like shape of the second. Nice work!
