Triacorsa Concept
Spawned from my imagination, this concept car is the result of several sketches I drew on my math homework! It was originally conceived as an Alfa Romeo concept car, thus explaining the V-shaped grill, but in the end I decided to leave it nondescript. This car features some insane building techniques like the angled side walls and dual-hinge doors. It was very frustrating but the end result is good in my opinion. Tell me what ya think!
About this creation
Front view. I had numerous design changes of the front and I'm still not very pleased with the fascia, but some aspects of it are quite nice. The angled sides of the car proved to be an on-going obstacle in the design process.

Aerial view. I decided the black with chrome trim accents was the best choice for a classy and stylish super car.

Front view. After several design changes, I decided to keep the "V" design for its aggressive appearance. It also gives the car a narrower illusion. All other designs I made looked very wide.

Rear view. For designing this part on the fly...I gotta say...it's pretty freakin' sweet!

Top rear view. You may be wondering why the roof appears to be floating. That's because in my original sketches, the car had no rear window pillars because it has a rounded glass rear window. Unfortunately there is no way to build that window in LEGO, so you just have to imagine it there!

Side view. The profile kinda reminds me of a Ford GT.

Here is an illustration to show where the windows "would be" if it were possible to recreate their difficult shape in LEGO form. For now you just have to use your imagination.

Oh yes... more of the back!

Now here's my favorite bit! (Not to mention the most frustrating!!!) Butterfly doors! When they are closed, the stand vertically like on a normal car, but then they tip outward to match the angle of the sides and lift up. Pretty neat, eh? Check out the video posted below if you don't understand!

Engine cover opened to reveal the beastly supercharged V8! The hood is also double-hinged and the roof scoop goes up too.

Hood closed. Part of the engine is exposed. Remember, try to imagine that rear glass window being there!

Air brake deployed. Most modern super cars have 'em, so I thought, why not throw one on there?

Front view with the wings spread!

Rear side view with doors ajar!

Interior view. Cup holders, shift knob, E-brake...

More interior! Seat belts everyone!

Really cool!! As for the rear window, maybe on LDD use the curved windshield piece. Or if you still have the car built, you can find the piece in a LEGO Agents set, preferably the spy car. Great work!!!!! Yes I Have seen the YouTube video with this car as one of the cars on your Lego Cars Collections videos.

I like the car very much. Can I use the technique from the door on my next car? I will give you credit. And you should definitely join Dan the Mans 6th car contest: it is about concept cars. Please let me know something.

beautiful! I love it! A brilliant technique with those curves, dude. From every angle this car is amazing. If I'd have car like that in reality i'd never drive it. Just keep it in garage to admire it's beauty. Anyways I love it how you made those doors and hood. As for the windows it's not hard to do, man. If you want to know how you can solve that problem mail me at mandylion7@hotmail.com

That is quite possibly the most beautiful piece of Lego building I have ever seen. The whole angled sides thing, and the way the doors open is all ingenious. Not to mention how the rear is opened up. I tip the proverbial hat in your direction.

I never comment on imaginary cars because they don't require the perfection that replicas do, but like, planning it on paper? That's great? The design and styling is also so insanely eye-catching. Great job, and the slanting sides are sweet. (one of the rear photos reminded me of a pontiac solstice...I don't think it's been made yet...) Keep it up, -matthew-

This is brilliant! Really well designed car - I LOVE the back with the intersecting lines - it's a popular style for cars right now but one rarely pulled off in LEGO. 5 Smilies
