The Gorgon-class destroyer was a starship used by the UNSC. The first Heavy Destroyer introduced into UNSC service, the Gorgon-Class, would also be the first to include a Magnetic Accelerator Cannon, a weapon that would later become standard armament. By comparison, later ships would be much better armed, but at the time the MAC was still a new technology. The first ship of the class was commanded by Preston J. Cole, and used to engage the UNSC Bellerophon/Bellicose.

Yeah, build a version 2.0 ftw! Just a little bit longer, some more geebling and maybe a tile-covered area here and there and this already impressive looking ship will take off to the stars! ~Cheers |

Nice job on the angles, and I love the scale you've tackled here! I'd like to see more surface detailing - perhaps just a select area or two of greebling would do it...just FEELS like it needs it. All in all, though, a great job!
Thanks. I went short on the greebling for two reasons. 1. because I wanted this to resemble the Pillar of Autumn from Halo: CE, which was very basic (almost just a mass study). and 2, because I built it in two days and just wanted to get it done as soon as possible. Perhaps I will make a 2.0 before the end of summer.

Excellent work, although it almost looks like you tried to make the Pillar of Autumn and ran out of pieces. Like Kelso said, some greebles here and there would give it a more finished look.
Actually, about two years ago I did star the POA, and yes, ran out of parts. I started at the nose and got all the way to the main hull, but ran out of plating. This was an attempt to build something similar. |

I agree with Eric. It looks like a cruiser more than a destroyer. And, it's too short and fat. If it's a destroyer, i needs the engines on the side and not the back
Those are Frigates you are thinking of I think. Anyway, it is supposed to be a very early design, so I went with something similar to the POA, but simpler.

Guess that thing is huge. Although I would recommend more greebling, this is a nice ship! |
