It features MRAP* design (* Mine Resistant Ambush Protected). You can see how the undercarriage and lower portion of the vehicle is tapered to create a V-shape bottom to direct mine blasts outward from the passengers. The bottom is also heavily armored as are the walls to protect it from explosive projectiles, such as RPGs, mortars, etc.
It is armed with a heavy machine gun turret with closeable hatch. Other small arms are stored inside.
The BEAR has two gull-wing doors on the sides and a hatch in the back. It also has a tactical command center inside. Rails on the back can be used to tie down supplies on the roof or to attach camouflaged netting.
It typically has a 3+ man crew: driver, commander, gunner, plus 2-4 soldiers. I loaded it up with Clutch, Gung Ho, Mutt, Junkyard, Beachhead and Duke (see L-R at the bottom).
This vehicle is heavily based on the British MRAP, the Ocelot.
Great Looking vehicle. Very Beefy. I love the off center turret and the weapons are great. I can relate you your views on LDD. I don't have a huge collection or wallet and I think the creativity and skill it takes to build with LDD is equal to real bricks. I am much more impressed with a small to midsize original build then a huge copy of something! Keep up the great work.
