The Nexutron Chronicles
As it turns out, both the released Bonestrom and some avenging aliens both want the presidency! However, the aliens of the Zech Alliance never conquer unless violated first. Care to explain, Mr. President?
President; OK, OK, here's what happened.
Pres.; Y'know how my predecessor formed that alliance with those yahoo aliens, right? Well, one of the conditions was that we never venture into their space. Lame, right? That's what our country does, explore! Besides, I needed to do something daring by the next election.
Pres.; Well, *ahem* apparently the guard was more prepped than I expected. We lost the probe, so they know the treaty was broken. Bummage, right?
Zam; And it only gets worse. If the aliens sent a kidnap force, it only means a battle cruiser is only days behind.
Pres.; Aaa!
Zam; Cool it, sir. Armageddon is Nexutron specialty.
Zam; We have a cruiser ourselves. The N.C.S.S. Master Bolt is in the drydock for repairs ever since a Martian incident. Provided the dock is unnoticed, we can give the invaders a pretty good thumping!
Pres.; Well, could you at least let me go?
Zam; We just needed answers, sir. Kidnapping was never our intent. You're free to go.
Pres.; Gee, thanks!
Zam; Oh, and sir?
Pres.; Yes?
Zam; Don't do anything stupid.
Later,..
Zam; All vehicles! Our scout car reports that the presence of our ship is known!
Zam; So load your guns and prepare for combat!
