Showtrucks need to go to a custom truck show in style. I got some inspiration watching photos of the Mid American truckshow in Louisville, where the wildest showtrucks are carried in on flatbed trailers almost as pretty as the trucks themselves.
About this creation
The reddish brown tractor is a 1:13 scaled Peterbilt 379 daycab. It is a massive conversion from a truck i have build earlier on, the 'Eldorado' dumptruck. I removed the dumpbody, dismantled the chassis and lowered it. The chassis was then shortened and detailled and fenders were added. I kept the reddish brown-tan-dark gray color combination to make it look rather retro, or oldskool. A big contribution to this are the chromed old Technic rims. Once more i have arranged this with the 'plating on plastics' technology in cooperation with Bricklinker Bricks4all.They don't come any shinier, as it is real chrome.
The white truck is fresh and truly newskool. I wanted to base it on the 8880 rims which are not that suitable for a truck, but they look so cool. My aim was to make it clean and mat, like you see as a trend nowadays. It is not a simply thing though. The whole rig, also a daycab is heavily detailled including a chromed out engine and differential setup.
To combine it all i have build a Fontaine flatbed trailer with custom detail, like the fenders and bumpers. It is equipped with a wooden deck, and also the chromed rims seen on the brown daycab.
WOW! WOW! dude now how did you do that those bricks are shine as anything dude you must be one of the worlds best lego billder with that truck and i can tell you now im not playing a trick it is one of the best trucks i have ever seen on moc.
Congratulations!!. But I must say I have a double feeling about the chrome. Although it is without a doubt a realistic feature of such a showtruck, I find it almost hides the massive detail of the engine because to shiny. But hey, that is just my opinion, so please don't be worried.
Amazing amazing amazing work again. You take detail to levels far above what we normally see on MOCpages. Your work was a big inspiration during the build of my last MOC. 10/10 P.S Loving the old-skool wheels chromed!
WOW! That's a lot of chrome! I love the engine in the white truck and all the detail on them both. The colour schemes are awesome, they go really well with the chrome details. Excellent work! Could you please comment on my 1957 Chevrolet bel air convertible, the link is
I don't see how these trucks are so... NOT!!! These trucks are awesome! (Just how all your stuff is), they have an incredible amount of detail, I really like the engine on the white one. I don't know what you mean about the wheels don't work (your right they do look awesome), they work very well on the truck. Epic Job!
