Lego Creator 5765 alternative - Land Speed Record Attempt
Well, here's my second "what can I make out of set 5765?". A dragster that has been developped into a Land Speed Record challenger from the 1960s, possibly.
About this creation
Looks fast!

The business end. Two thrust vector jet engines with afterburners 'borrowed' from a USAF Skunkworks project. There ain't no substitute for lots of shooty flames coming out the back of a car.

It's low and sleek. The stepped side pods took a whole five minutes of research, creating vacuum pockets for the car to pass through and they hold lots of highly flammable fuel.

Air intakes ahead of the cockpit to force air through the jets.

The Cockpit. This is where the magic happens. Man, machine, blind terror.

The aerodynamics have been finely tuned around the propulsion motors. A highly transistorised 'brain' assists the pilot keep the vehicle on the path to the record books. With a twitch here and a vector adjustment there, the low drag tail flaps keep this baby from an appointment with oblivion.

And a shot of the ground effects keeping this baby glued to the salt pan.

Well, now you mention it, the main picture doesn't sell it really. I think I was after emphasising the length of it. If I could work out how to swap the pics around, I would!

This is another cat-walk kind of MOC. It's so simple and obviuos, anyone could have come up with it - but if you have a closer look (preferably not on the main picture, I must agree)you find well thought details everywhere. I like the aerodinamyc thingies at the back the most!

Hi Iain. Very sleek. Love the rear and side photos and I love the rear difuser. I hope you don't mind me saying but the main pic (in my opinion only) doesn't do it justice. Following your comment on Andrew's moc. ...ah the sound of Lego cascading onto the sitting room floor - music to any mocer's ears. Alas my knees won't take building on the floor these days. I use a comfy chair with a place for my pipe and slippers. Haha only joking;). But I do use a chair with a try on my lap and my divider boxes wifhin easy reach.

I think the best way to describe this is... groovy. Just don't let Richard Hammond near it..
