Halcyon Ion Cannon Cruiser

The Halcyon is a specialised Ion Cannon vessel with a massive Collimator situated in front of, and to the sides of the Ion Cannon, in order to allow for concentrated focusing and bending of the beam. With intense focusing, the Halcyon's Ion Beam is able to penetrate planetary atmospheres to perform planet bombardments, thus laying siege to planetary targets. Also, the ability to bend her Ion Beams renders the Halcyon very deadly to ships that are apparently out of her firing arc.
About this creation

The odd black/red color combination is meant to mimic that of the Vandorian Killer Bee, which looks surprisingly like an Earth Bee, save for its black/red color. This current color scheme is meant for the prototype ship, with future models bearing a more conventional tone.

Very nice design, though I noticed the color change. New faction? Also, a bending Ion Beam. That's a new one on me. I'm interested in how it would control the bend. Nicely done craft, one I would not want to face alone. ^Blub^
