When newly discovered solar systems were being colonized, the creators of the Fleet, also known as the T'ndari, had hoped to meet friends, instead, they met enemies. As attacks were barely being held off by colony defense guns and missile systems, the Fleet was formed. Beginning with the x-01, the Fleet began to make the colonies stand a chance in these new solar systems. When it was decided to go on the offensive, the x-02 was made to destroy enemy battle cruisers. Shorlty after the first wave of x-02's was sent to he colonies, enemies at home stole technology from the Fleet's creators and built a great starbattlecruiser/colony ship/mothership and moved its entire own civilization to another solar system, those enemies formed alliances with other enemies of the Fleet's creators. As a result of the new threat, the x-03 was developed to battle squadrons of fighters and a couple battle cruisers with one ship long before they could pose a threat to the colony that ship was protecting.
Eventually the sensors on an x-03-A found the solar system which Earth is a part of. Having sent an expedition to Earth to investigate colonization possibilities and the indiginieous people, first contact was met with a wing of primitive fighters from one of the many countries on Earth. The expedition team had no trouble brushing off the small peices of metal and air-air missiles. The team later reported that besides being very defensive of their home, and being almost disgusted with the fact that they were not alone in the universe, humans were a friendly people, and they needed more time to develope their technology. As a result, the area of the Earth system was demilitarized and the borders of the area protected.
A couple centuries after the discoveryh of earth, the Fleet went on the offensive against their enemies and began to withdraw from the Earth system, leaving only 2 x-01s and a small base behind. The T'ndari empire began to expand once more, and with the humans beginning to explore deeper into space with manned missions, a treaty was formed.
The constant attacks of the T'ndari-Earth fleet combined on their enemies resulted in an end to the war that seemed as though it would never end to the T'ndari (as they had fought some of them for milenia on their homeworld)and a long peacetime. The Fleet has now had a chance to improve their technology and are building up for protection against a suspected invasion from "The First Enemy" as they are now called.
