HAIF-192-AHW "Havoc" Heavy Burst Starfighter
A heavy modular starfighter design based off the DeltaSabre from the videogame 'Project Sylpheed'. I loved that fighter.
About this creation

The HAIF-192-AHW Heavy Burst Starfighter, commonly called the "Havoc" by its hand-picked pilots, is the most technologically advanced fighter to ever be produced by RGF Productions.

The Havoc is powered by 6 high efficiency Ionic-Plasma Burst Drives. These drives are physically smaller than any used by other craft, but in terms of fuel efficiency and thrust to mass ratio, the Ionic-Plasma Burst Drives are unmatched for acceleration and manueverability.

Seen here, the Havoc is equipped with anti-fighter weaponry, which includes medium and long range warhead missiles, a Gatling nose gun for dogfighting, and a heavy cannon for taking out more heavily armored targets.

Mounted on either side of the heavy cannon is a medium anti-fighter missile rack. This package is optimized for dealing with enemy fighters. These components are modular, which allows for optimizing the Havoc for several mission profiles.

The back-mounted missile rack holds high agility mediumm range missiles. The wing mounted launchers hold long range missiles.

Havoc fighters that are currently being utilized for training missions are painted white with orange. These craft are equipped with a paint-round version of the basic dogfighting gatling nose gun.

In addition to the paint-round guns, trainer craft are equipped with sophisicated laser targeting sensors used to simulate missile combat. These sensors handle all simulated target locks, weapons fire, and damage dealt by the hit.

The Havoc has five primary hard-points, the nose cone, the spot on the back, the belly, and the wingtips.

These two colorschemes belong to the top two Havoc Squadrons currently flying for RGF Productions. The dark green and black belongs to the Earthbound Squadron, and the blue and white belongs to AzureFyre Squadron.

Seen here, modeled by an AzureFyre Squadron fighter, is the Heavy Capital Loadout. This particular set of weapons is perfectly aligned for destroying capital ships, making the Havoc an excellent anti-ship fighter.

While the Havoc remains fast, it's increased mass to thrust ratio reduces its acceleration and manueverability enough to no longer be considered for anti-fighter missions. Often a squadron will keep two such loadouts on hand at all times, should enemy capital ships decide to poke their head in on RGF Productions' business.

The large torpedos mounted to the wingtip hardpoints are extreme long range (considering the fighter) and are equipped with the latest in armor defeating systems, as well as a high-yield warhead.

The standard gatling nose gun has been replaced with a pulse beam gun. While it does remarkable damage, it has a slower rate of fire than the gatling, as well as the risk of overheating when used. The pulse beam can be used for dogfighting, though it has proven more effective at dealing with heavier armor. The belly hardpoint is occupied with a Rail Cannon, capable of shredding lightly armored targets with a single round, and smashing heavy armor as well.

The weapon that occupies the back hardpoint is an extremely powerful dual beam cannon. These weapons are very slow firing, due to the coolant needs to prevent the barrels from melting, but they are extremely powerful, and melt right through most capital ship armor. These are the same type of cannons used to fend off gunship and corvette attacks. Here is the entire loadout laid out.

CREATOR'S NOTES:

Well, since I don't have my copy of the game, I downloaded the demo. I love the DeltaSabre fighter so much. These images inspired me while I was building it.

Hope you like it! I sure had fun designing the Havoc. I will be adding other loadouts as I complete them.

I'm not sure where I saw that nose cone. I remember seeing it somewhere a while back, and I can't remember where. So you know who you are, stand and be recognized!

Haven't played that game, but this looks like a nifty piece of hardware. Good job.

Quoting M G Woah wait a minute! You actually know what project sylpheed is? My god that is one of the best games i have for the 360! Seriously everything in that game is fantastic. This is actually really close to what the delta sabers look like. Lovin this! 5/5
Actually there are quite a few differences. It's probably 45% DeltaSabre. And of course I know. I'd not have built this if it wasn't for that game, but I think the reason it got left behind was that it had no multiplayer. If it had multiplayer, it would have been far more successful. Could you imagine having the ability to customize your own DeltaSabre or NightRaven, and duking it out against other players?

Quoting Thomas Z. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6xzWtIA0HQ here's a little trailer of the first game (I recomand to start with this one to better understand the story, but for the second game you should get the open source version. It was made by a lot of caring fans and turns the game into a beauty.) I'd like to try this game of yours but I don't own an Xbox :( I'm planning to build some of the fighters from Freespace but right now I'm working on my Mobile Suits and I (re)started to build the Kshatrya from Gundam Unicorn, in the same size as my Sazabi! What's next for you?
Now those are some neat looking craft. I could definitely go for some of them. As for my next projects (since I have about 8 in progress) will be some more RGF Productions MOCs. You'll see soon enough. I also have a GAIA project I need to finish, and a Project AEGAKS project as well.

From A Technical Standpoint, You Have A Very Unit Suiting For A Military Or Armed Force. Nothing Fancy In The Sense Of Having Crazy Elaborate Features, The Design Focuses On The Practical Aspects Of A Variable Role Fighter. You Already Have A Diverse Array Of Weaponry, And If Read Correctly You Have More Variants On The Way. The Only Issue I Have Is I Feel That The Unit Is Too Wide In The Rear, However, That Is For The Purpose Of The Mounting Of Various Weapons Packs Simultaneously. So, Overall You Have A Fairly Solid Unit That Isn't Too Flashy That It Loses Its Military Feel But Still Is Eye Catching, Nice Work. And On The Issue Of Reviewing, Currently I'm Focusing On The Reorganization Of HFR!!!, Not Adding Any Sort Of Mods. But Thank You For The Offer And I Shall Keep It In Mind When The Group's Traffic Becomes Denser.

Quoting Thomas Z. This MOC looks really cool! I'm not familiar with the game tough. Ever played Conflict Freespace I-II? If not check it out, it's an old game but it's still the best space fighter sim in my book for PC(also there are several mods for the game that makes the graphics and effects look a lot better). The style of the ships in it might be to your taste and serve as potential future MOC-s maybe?
I'll have to take a look then. I am a big fan of flight sims. And you really should check out Project Sylpheed.

Quoting Green Ghost . This is a beast! Shame it can't suport it's own weight though.
I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean the model itself, it would be able to support its weight. If you mean as a fighter, keep in mind it's meant for space use only.

Quoting Ced The Clever That's Frakkin' Sweet! Reminds me of how I wished old tranformers toys looked. Your becoming a master of the LDD it seems.
Thanks for the positive feedback. I wouldn't say I'm becoming a master, but my understanding of large scale design is definitely improving.

Quoting Cody G Well done! The heavier loadouts kind of crowd the craft, but by itself it is very sleek.
The heavier loadouts do tend to do that, but I think that they give it a distinguished look. I was heavily inspired by the DeltaSabre, but I didn't want to make a replica, so I'm pleased with the level of sleekness I was able to reach.

Quoting Mike C This is hands down my favorite starfighter RGF has produced to date. I love the interchangeable weapon systems. It makes the ship so much more versatile and multifunctional. The body design is very sleek and stylish and the color variations are excellent. Id love to see you brick this one.
I would love to brick this one out, but it's going to be expensive. It uses proven techniques, so I have no doubt that it will be able to support it's own weight. And wait till I add the other weapons loadouts. I'm going to have several.

Quoting Gab BOIDOT it rocks ! For me : your best space ship ! this one really deserve to be an real build !! If you don't maybe I will later.. hope truly you will ! I've also recently add a new creation (indeed it's the Version 2 of my Flyer Unit..)
Glad you liked it. I would love to build it someday, but it's kind of parts intensive, and with quite a few parts that I don't have. We'll have to see.
