Space Pirate Ships 1
Yaaaar!....Ahh, not that type of pirate...Here there be Space Pirates
About this creation

Hidden within the shroud of intergalactic struggle are would be opportunists, who, though low in moral integrity, are generally considered jacks of all trades and ace pilots. They call themselves theives, freebooters, privateers, capsuleers, corsairs, hooligans, bounty hunters, spice smugglers and your sometime soldier of fortune. They are feared as marauders, plunderes, pillagers, gangsters, raiders, ravagers, extortionists, and common scum. Only the most talented will live long enough to be called a true pirate. The longer the engine of war rages on, the louder the call to become a pirate resounds.

Lone wolves are near unheard of, as pirates are lured into taking the colors of clans by promises of fame, fortune, protection, often even the threat of death...or worse(DUN DUN DUN). Thousands of these clans and gangs rule over the criminal underground with and iron fist, their political ideologies vary from group to group but is usually dependent on profit in some form. As a whole the clans can rival even the best military, fortunately they are kept divided by common squabbling over territory. Most pirates will stay with the clan for the rest of their short existences, as it is not recommended to cross a pirate organization(DUN DUN DUN).

The vessels of the lost can be as varied and harried as the men (or women, of course) that pilot them. From a hijacked fully armed military battlecruiser to the junker held together by duct tape(Yes, duct tape is still a viable fix all in the future). More often pirate ships are a combination of many different ship components to compliment the tendencies of the pilot. Like military vessels, pirate ships adhere to a strict rule of coloring/flags according to their respective clan. Flying in an unmarked ship in unsecured space is a guaranteed quick ticket to Tortuga(Pirate Afterlife).

Enjoy the pics!

Pirate Skirmisher (I would have called this the pregnant bat, due to its frumpy profile, but the name was taken...)

Basically what I was trying to get here was a maneuverable/aggressive ship. I think it came out nicely.

Pirate LRM Frigate

So here, you get a ship that looks like its nickname would be the "pig" or "hog"...but comfortable with it...Cause it looks like a TANK!(Flying bricks...eh, its space right?)

Ooook! So, my 1 year MOCpages anniversary came and went without a MOC, though in Ced time, 1 month isn't that far off. I really want to thank the community, whether I'm familiar with you through text or just your work, you've all been a valuable asset to my learning.

I'm releasing build instructions for some the popular MOCS in hopes they can help someone learn in similar fashion. Break out your cheese wedges! Hrist, Tempest, and Judge should be uploaded by the end of the day...as long as I can find them on the computer...

Shout out to Mark Kelso, who reminded me that its not about how many clicks you get.

Also to El Barto for giving us It isn't Rocket Surgery(a great group for learning new photoshopping tricks), and also for commenting on my junk.

And Cody G! For challenging me with NEOS, which has been a great place to do projects in the colors I have the most of!

Some late additions to my thank you's. Christhophe Corthay for making the rest of the space community look like Duplo with his Vulcan. Another shout out to Peter Mowry's Sci-Fi Imagination and Art, a growing group of active Sci Fi builders.

Again, thanks to all of you, I'll try to update the project progress on my home page more often so no one thinks I've died. Feel free to stop in and say hello sometime, even if we haven't met before. Till' then!

UPDATE: 7/27/11 Added skirmisher build instruction. 257 Bricks.

Beautiful ships! And congrats on a year, it's really been good to have such a skilled builder support and criticize my builds as well as help me to keep the NEOS alive. I hope to MOC with you for many years to come. :)

What an amazing pair of ships! The colours are great, and the shapes and details are fantastic. On the colours, the first shot of the first ship looked mostly sand blue on my phone, I sat there for s moment, thinking, where on earth did he get those pieces, and can I get them? All in all, great creations, hope to see more soon.

As with some of your other MOCs, you really "Use" color effectively! And as always, your presentation of the ships is impressive and captivating. The photos and the shopping are first class. I am also intrigued by the features you build into the surface of the ships. the cylinders suspended inside of the oval openings, and the overall geometry. All very fresh. Powerful work. Attack!

Christophe, Christophe, Christophe, you know if you had asked you could have those 3 months ago. Your still sending the instruction of the Vulcan to my email right!?! Btw, I updated a little shout out to you in my commentary. Cheers man, take it easy on the other side of the globe.

Quoting JS Can Wow, they really look fantastic. You certainly turned those bricks into some wonderful shapes and color schemes.
Thanks! These were a lot of fun to work on...apparently so much so that I lost track of time working on them.

Quoting Shawn Purkis Great looking ships, Love the colors, very light and fast designs perfect for pirates. Congrats on the anniversary, mine came and went and college kept me from posting anything special. great use of parts and everything is at odd angles as usual. I assume by the 1 in the title that there will be more?
Sup' Shawn? Happy Anniversary to you as well then, I'm glad your doing college and hope that everything is going good. I had envisioned these as a cross between Tie fighters and WH40K orc designs, and am pretty happy with em'. I have 1 other ship drawn out that will fit the bill. I'd need another ship if I want to stay with this 2 ships precedent, I'd love that to be a Cap ship, which I've never doen before. Anyway, probably not too soon, but maybe sooner than I think cause one of my short term goals is to start putting out at least a project a month.

Quoting Peter Mowry Excellent job Ced and Congrats on the 1 year anniversary. Great Job on the backstory and usage of parts. Also Im really gonna have to try to work on my bottom of my creations cuz how you did the Pirate Ships Bottom design is great. Guess Ill have to work on that next build. Keep it up Bro, again great job!!!
Yeah, on the larger ship in particular I sacrificed the inner workings of the cockpit for the bottom. Now that I think about it my MOC's are progressively losing function. I wonder if that's because I've been focusing on the outside. Anyway, if our MOCS made babies, they'd be the whole package...or pretty darn close from this perspective.

Quoting El Barto ! Great stuff, Ced! Cool builds with clever parts usage, and the presentation with that background is a nice touch. But before someone else brings it up, I comment on your MOCs, I know nothing of your junk. Thanks for the shout out, too, Chief!
HAW, thanks again man. Just messing around btw. As for the background, I finally had enough with staring at photoshop looking for an appropriately colored background indecisively. Crafted this which took about an hour, but I'll use it in the future and save time I think.
