The SW-1 Deep Space Freighter single-handedly contributed to mankind's expansion into the outer rim worlds. With her long range jump engines and large cargo holds augmentable with external stowage, the SW-1 has been nicknamed the "Cosmic Camel".
About this creation
In addition to her contribution to Earth's Colonization efforts, the SW-1 also served a pivotal role during the closing days of the Earth-Valdorian War - where high attrition led to the decision by Fleet Command to requisition the entire merchant fleet of 500 SW-1s and outfit them for frigate duties. This act single-handedly turned the tide of the war as the numerical superiority now swung in Earth's favour, allowing Earth Force to overwhelm the Valdorian fleet and bring the war to their solar system. Finally, a ceasefire was declared and the Valdorian surrender ceremony was held on the second moon of Valdoria, on board the SW-2 PATRIOT.
To this day, many Valdorian veterans report symptoms of anxiety and PTSD upon the sight of a Snyder Wescott freighter/frigate. Many have reported nightmares of being out in space facing a wall of SW-1s, only to awake drenched in cold sweat. Rumour has it that the Valdorian Fleet Command has classified the SW-1 as a cruiser....
Now in better times, with normalising ties between Humans and Valdorians, many wealthy Valdorians and Humans alike shop at Snyder-Wescott Industries for their personal inter-stellar vessel needs.
As for Snyder and Wescott, let's just say they are both wealthy and comfortably retired on their respective real estate purchases - the 3rd and 4th Valdorian Moons respectively.
