The Quest: Episode two
The second episode for the CYOA, my sister and I are doing. Annie made most of the builds and took most of the pictures, while I wrote everything. Also, this episode is quite long!
About this creation

Listen to the music while you read. It's just music no words.

In the last episode, the heroes from the Castle had to decide if they would follow a mysterious woman who said they were in danger, or to obey the Seer and trust no one.

Bobert: “What do you think? I like the looks of her.”
Alistana: *Rolls eyes at Bobert* “We should trust her; But not for your reason Bobert. The Seer seems a tad sketchy in my opinion anyway.”
Suiauthon: “My thoughts swim down the same stream as yours.”
Calebran: “After all, the Seer said evil will attempt to stop us, she is trying to save us.”
Mark Aarons: “Agreed.”

Suiuthon: “Our lives are like thin threads, if they are severed tonight, our mission has failed and the moon will-”
Alistana: “we’ll follow you lady.”
Bobert: “But we won’t trust you.”
Mystery woman: “Good, follow me now. We must hurry.”

The party heads out into the night, and moves swiftly down the road

They enter the forest, which casts long shadows all around them.

The only reason they can know that the woman might be speaking truth, is the bright light of the burning inn behind them. If they had stayed they would have surely been roasted alive.

After about half of an hour, the group arrives at a dilapidated hut in the middle of the forest. The woman leads them inside.

She shows them to a dark room filled with oddments of all sorts. And a man.
Man: “I see you have brought them Lillian, thank you my daughter.”
Lillian: “Of course father.”
Man: “Welcome, travelers from Dalradae. I am Corlendar, the wizard of these parts.”
Mark Aarons: “We thank you and your daughter for saving our lives; it is a debt we shall strive to repay.”
Alistana: “But why have you brought us here? And for what reason did you save us?”
Corlendar: “There is much to be said and not much time to say it.”

Corlendar: “I will start out by saying that you have been deceived. The one whom you call ‘The Seer’ spoke the truth when he said that it was written in the stars that you would save the realm. He failed to mention that it would be from him.”
Bobert: “What on earth do you mean?”
Corlendar: “I mean that the Seer rules the kingdom. King Adrian is strong, brave and just, but he lacks wisdom. The Seer provides the wisdom, and the king has come to rely on it. He, with his wisdom, governs the realm with an iron fist. Everything runs smoothly, and the King never worries about a thing. But the common folk are treated like beasts of burden; to the seer they are but more livestock to tally up on one of his business charts.”
Calebran: “That is not true! We have all seen that the peasants are treated fairly! Surely you speak of another land?”
Corlendar: “Did I not mention that you have been deceived? The Seer wants to keep your destiny from you; he has made you believe that all is right and good with the Kingdom, when in fact the very core is rotten. In fact the quest you are now on is a plan to kill you before you relies the strength you hold. You are far more powerful than you could ever imagine! Join me and I will show you the resistance movement that even now is fighting to reclaim the realm! What say you?”

End of part one.

Castle people, make sure you go to the group to make your choices.

PART TWO:

Last episode, the villagers had to decide whether to go after the Barbarians who burned down their village and kidnapped their families, on their own. Or go to a nearby castle and seek aid first. They chose to seek aid.

They trail out of the village, heading east.
Edurius: “A mere twenty miles to Caer Tornoch. When we get there I am sure most of the garrison will aid us, we will stand a much better chance against the Barbarians then.”

About 16 miles from their burned down town, the villagers pause to rest by a stream.

Sierra: “We need to move! The longer we wait the farther away the Barbarians will be!”

Edurius: “If we don’t pace ourselves we will not be fit to fight when the time comes.”

Norin: “I (huff) Agree (huff)”

Suddenly the five companions here crashing in the woods, they leap up, weapons in hand, expecting Barbarians.

Instead they see a bedraggled group of soldiers marching into the clearing.

Captain: “What have we here?”
Alexander: “We come from a nearby village; the Barbarians burned it down and took our families. We are on our way to Caer Tornoch to seek aid.”
Captain: “Well tough luck finding help there. We are all that’s left of the garrison.”
Koen: “What happened?”

Captain: *Points with his sword* “That should explain things.”

The Villagers were stunned they had not seen the castle already, perched on a hill four miles away, fire billowing from behind its walls.
Captain: “The Barbarians paid us a visit too.”

Captain: “I don’t think I’ve introduced myself, Derith, Captain of the Tornoch guard at you service. You said you were going after the Barbarians?”
Norin: “Aye, that was our plan.”
Derith: “My men and I are eager to avenge our comrade’s deaths, but I doubt I could find more than five men fit enough to fight at the moment. Wait a few days and that will change.”

End of part one.

Villagers, go to the group to make your choices!

If the first song is done listen to this one.

PART THREE:

In the last Episode the outlaws had to decide whether to attack the treasure convoy, or rescue the Wood Troll. They decided to save the troll.

Evan Blackwood and Otis the mighty, charge into the Barbarians, Easily taking out their unsuspecting opponents.

Lewic and Michael team up against theirs.

While Owl saws the handcuffs off the Troll.

Lewic: “Grrr, That was easier than we thought, what will we do with that little green fellow now?”
Otis: “We can eat em’ up iffin we gets to hungry.”
Evan: “Troll meat? Sir, that is disgusting!”

Troll: “Don’t eeeeat me!”
Owl: “Don’t worry little guy, I won’t let them eat you.”
Troll: “There be moooooore!”
Evan: “Owl, make him shut up! I’m really wishing we had gone for the gold now.”
Owl: “More what? Barbarians! There’s more!”

RUN!

Evan: “Keep moving! Go, go!

Troll: “Go, Go, Gooooo!”

The treasure guards were alerted by the chaotic noise.

They readied their weapons and prepared for the worst.

Evan: “Quick! Get behind these bushes!”

The Barbarians lose all thought of the outlaws when they see the treasure chest.

They rush forward with shouts of “Gold! Go for the gold!”

The guards rush into the fray, determined to protect the treasure.

Leaving the chest unguarded.

Evan: “Go! Let’s get it now!”

The outlaws surround the chest.
Evan: “Pick it up and let’s get out of here!”
Troll: “Let’s go, let’s gooooooo!”

The outlaws pick up the chest and begin to run.

Troll: “Go, go goooooo!”
Michael: “The chest feels light, too light for gold.”
Evan: “Drat! Stop and check real quick, Owl, pry it open with your saber!”

Owl: “Here, it’s starting to open!”
Troll: “Lemme see! Lemme see!”
*A high pitched whine starts to come from the chest*

*ZZZZZIMMMMM*

Evan: “What in the world?!!”
Michael: “They have vanished like the moon, after the night has worked through.”
Otis: “Dats just weird.”
Lewic: “Grrrrr. Well, we can’t just leave them. I vote we go in after them.”

Outlaws, check in at the group to decide what to do next!

Great instalment! Next time, use GIMP and use selective coloring, Ben did it on one of his photos. You could leave the ground and the chest untouched (in their original colors) and only the fire and the minifigs inverted.

PS: I like how you dubbed Otis. Although I don't think he understands that this is how we see him. On second thought, it seems that I am the only one who seems to pays attention to this illiteracy, so replace the 'we' with 'I'. The well-written dialogue conveys well our decisions and discussions in the group, and the sets are very good and detailed. Great job, Annie and Ru.

Quoting Magma ! NICE! Very NICE! I like how you also showed a little of previous episode. That makes it look like a real movie. I also like the idea for the owl's plume. I have a broken leaf, so if I find it, I'll also use it like that. Even though I am a purist. And story is interesting. I can't wait to see more.
Thanks! I too am purist, but I seem to have far too many broken leaves. I geuss it's still purist if you didn't mean to break it!
