Grapple , G1 Autobot Architect
Once a revered Cybertronian architect, now a valiant warroir against the tyranny of the Decepticons.... here is Autobot Grapple!
About this creation
Here is my first real MOC back from spraining my hand. This one has sentimental value it was one of my favourite G1 Transformer toys growing up. Here is G1 Grapple! As usual this MOC transforms without removal or addition of parts (except his rifle and missile option) and is to scale with my other car size legoformers. Transformation is very similar to the orignal toy but the fists stay on in my version!

Please check him out, rate and comment!

Cheers and happy building, BOYZWITHTHEMOSTTOYZ!

Quoting Cheesy Q While I'm sure you are backed up with requests, I want to ask you something, There is a video game series that I like called Star Fox. Despite it's name it is actually very good. Anyway, one of the characters has a star ship that can transform into a giant floating head and hands. It looks like you could do. Here's a video. I believe the transformation is from 0.17 to 0.55. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfzI0oyyWVU&feature=related
Roach you can't deny it, you have to make it! BTW great job as always!

Quoting Captain Vortex Here's a challenge:Can you try building the 6 Pretender Monsters with their shells?

Silly me, I just realised I forgot to comment on this one when you posted it xD Anyway, excellent work, it's very accurate to the original toy (I didn't have grapple, but I had Inferno, pretty much the same toy). Keep up the good stuff :)

the ball joints are also available on Pick a Brick. You can get the 2 x 2 with socket or ball you cannot get the 2 x 2 with ball on each end anymore though. But I did not use one of those in this model!
Quoting *Insert name here* *Or here* Ok, but I ment more like the ball joints, sorry I got to be more specific.

all the ratchet like joints I used for this creation can be purchased from lego pick a brick or on the secondary market like brinklink or ebay.
Quoting *Insert name here* *Or here* Ahum, Abominus, ahum! Great Grapple, he is a great character. There is just nothing else to say. It's just so awesome, and I got 2 questions: Where do you buy/ order those joints from? And could you make Zeta Sentinel Prime?

Mr. Phipson, I am toying with some ideas for another combiner I just can't decide which one! But likely that won't start construction till the fall or winter! My Lego "to do" list is just too long. Thanks for your continued support! sincerely, Mr. Roach
Quoting Chris Phipson Lookin' great as always Chris. Your stuff is just always top notch in both build and nostalgia! I've got a challenge for ya though... (no, not Unicron). You've already done Fort Max so I'll avoid Omega Supreme, but what about stepping up on the combiner side of the tracks? Maybe the Protectobots or the Predicons! (ohh, that would be cool... Predaking!) Just some food for thought. Thanks for sharing! ~ Chris.

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Hi Chris, Too right. I am never happy with my creations (even after posting) and always want to improve them. I am planning a v2 of jetfire but I hope to start a completely new transformer today. I think I've caught the legoformer bug, I blame you entirely :)

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Wow! Another very accurate recreation - just as I remember him. Both modes look great. So version 2 is already being planned, you must be a perfectionist too. ;).

the crane doesn't need to be used as a support he's well balanced and sturdy without it, so that could be a V2 option!
Quoting Raymond Drum I think the internet monster gobbled up my original comments. Anyway, nice job on this one! I like the mirrors on the cab. The only thing that might make it better is if the crane boom could telescope. It looks like it supports him in robot mode so, I suppose it can't.
