Voporak the Damned (A MOCversary Creation)
The MOCversary you've all been waiting for!! And it's none other than... VOPORAK!! Plus a sneak peek of "TRATI"...
About this creation

Before we go to the MOC and special preview,
I would like to make a few words...

As with every builder, there is a time. A time known as the Dark Ages. For me, it was simply the time before MOCpages. Before hand, I was an avid builder, but only a builder of one thing. I was on an endless journey for perfection of one sole creation. He had gone through many changes and renovations for the past 3 years I had been working on him, and his pressence only hindered me as a builder. I was in such a piece famine that almost ALL of my pieces were devoted to this one creation. He had no name. He had no purpose. He had no joy.

This creation was none other than Voporak. In a sense...

He was the result of my constant altering of the 3-in-1 combiner set of Keetongu, Sidorak, and Roodoka that came in a neatly made package, exclusively from Target. When all three sets were combined, the mighty Dark Hunter Voporak came to be. I never stopped working on him. I felt they didn't do him justice, and, though I didn't take mind of the story, I sought to make him better...and better...and better...

It was when I finally realized that in order to build fruitfully, I needed to build, photograph, and destroy; something I learned through MOCpages. The day I smashed that creation's body into it's basic elements was the day I became a new MOCer...

And so I tell you this to show that there is the dawn of a new era at hand. I have once again rebuilt the monster from my Dark Ages, with a wiser mind, a more skilled hand, and a determined spirit. I give to you... Voporak the Damned.

Here...

He...

Is!!!

Voporak is a canon character, so I can't say that he's original, but I can say this is an AWESOME revamp. The set that Lego made kinda made Voporak look...wierd... That's why I guess I started work on him all that many years ago...

It's definitely an improvement from what I had in my Dark Ages. For one, the colors on my Dark Age creation were solely Black and Silver.

And the build is a LOT better. His chest was bare originally and so I added that breastplate. P.S. HEARTLIGHTS FTW!!!

Look at this arm socket!! Three different ball joint connections! :D

He's also been adjusted to fit my story. Like the chains…where are those from? And notice that his left hand has been cut off…what happened there?!!? You'll have to wait and find out…

Here's his right arm, fully unscathed. But, where is his second pair of arms you ask?...

Right here!!

And the cool thing is that they can actually reach each other so he can fire his LAZ-I mean, Rhotuka.

If I were to make a Title Card for this, I'd entitle it:
THE BATTLE BEGINS…

AND NOW...

"Lux Aeterna (Requiem for a Dream)" - Clint Mansell

THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR…

IT'S FINALLY HERE…

CHAPTER 1:

"Time: A power so great, so influential, that nothing can truly have control over it and yet there is the Vahi; the Legendary mask that allows for the user to bend and travel through the very membrane of Time itself. Yet how can this be so? A mere piece of metal, imbued with the very essence of the fabric of Time? It seems ridiculous, and rightfully so. For it is, itself, a Paradox…"

The Fourth reminisced of the First's words when he was able to. In the Time between Time, there's only so much one can do, but enough can be done, and only so much space to be taken, but enough to be used.

He looked out into the Halls of Time, a sprawling area of Temporal Energy where the Aridike's of the Temporal Multiverse could convene in a place between places, a time between time. The First had constructed this domain, which was now being maintained by the Staff of Time.

He stroked the Staff of Time in his hands; one of the last remaining Great Artifacts of Time, one of two left, the other being the Vahi, currently existing in 229's Root. The Fourth was installed in deep thought, as one often does when remembering the lost. The Staff of Time was created as the First latched the Temporal Trunk in place, keeping the balance of the Tree of Time intact. It was meant as a permanent solution to the unweaving of the Tree.

While it worked at its job, the First had to give up all of his Time Energy, his very life force, to an object that could do a job for eternity that he could not; an artificial Atlas, of sorts. With only his powers over Spatial Gravity intact, the First melted into the Omniverse itself, leaving the Second to watch over the Staff of Time.

The Second was a completely neutral figure, having literally no opinion on any subject, and a completely unbiased view on the world, making for a very disturbed individual. It wasn't the fact that he was insane, but more like that he had a complete lack thereof. His inability to sway his views to make any action made for a need for change. The Staff of Time was a badge of office in the League, and a leader must physically lead, or be a figurehead of anarchy.

The Third was no one better. He was also quite neutral, but swayed more to the side of Evil at times. No, evil isn't the word. Simple indolence was his flaw. He was the kind to manipulate others to do his work, whether it was to lead as a fearless but cowardly king, or to start the coup that overthrew one. His tendencies made him attempt to lift the curse of guarding the Staff of Time by handing the job off to another. The very act killed both the Third and his potential mark, the Fifth, who would have probably been the best suited for the job.

Then the job fell onto the Fourth.

"A thousand times a thousand years I've held this burden."

The Fourth went back to his thoughts.

"What exactly did he mean by that? A paradox itself…"

The Fourth was suddenly interrupted by a distorted shrieking noise that sent a ripple through the Halls of Time. He stood from his seat abruptly, sensing the source of the disturbance very nearby.

*What could have caused a tremor as strong as that?!*

Another shriek and another wrinkle overtook the Fourth, causing his balance to falter. A deep, black void slowly crept into existence from one of the endless halls in front of him.

He readied the Staff of Time and grabbed his blade in case of danger, and tensed as he saw a very familiar figure step out of the void...

-----

The setting sun gave a faint glow to the sand and rocks of Onu-Maras. The usually black and dull rocks were tinged with a faint bronzed hue and the few mineral deposits exposed to the surface glittered with varying degrees of color and beauty. But from all the objects upon the painted landscape of the mesa, one stood out in particular.

A small piece of metal, gold in color and orange in aura, sat beside a large Toa, sitting with his legs over the edge of the plateau. The Toa was in deep thought. The bit of metal had caused a lot of problems in the recent past, and the Toa reminisced of them.

A friend lost, a path clouded and muddied, a reality reversed as if all things were going wrong. But so was the way of things. It could not be helped, only guided. And the only one able to guide it was he: Aridike, Toa of Gravity, Baron of Time.

He cast his glance down to the bit of metal; the mask known as the Vahi, the Legendary Mask of Time. His hands reached down to examine it further. It's craftsmanship was of no other, it's power unmatched by any other mask. Yet there was further mystery involved with this mask.

Aridike set the mask down. It was a bridge to be crossed or burned for another day, for today was already ending, and tomorrow had barely begun.

Well!! Hope you like it!!

Good news!! I've finally become less lazy! You've helped me get the drive to restore some pictures, like here on Voporak, as well as on Aridike V3 (http://mocpages.com/moc.php/273560), Bayzon V2 (http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/280289), and the Shoulders of Mata Nui (http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/271286)!! Thank you, and now you can see some of my best work!! :D

Quoting Clever Crowe Is this common to MOCpages? I am seeing it alot around... and couldn't think of another place to ask, so: I'm asking. Why do so many sets of Links go dead? Is it just due to the 'Outage' reported at the top of all pages right now? Or should I always expect a degree of this? Thanks in advance for any info, and GREAT works!!!
Trust me, your frustration is a millioneth that I face with these pictures. XC. I still have all the pictures (and some faith in Sean & Co), but I just haven't found the time to reupload them. Most of my better MOCs' pictures haven't been restored yet (it is because of the server crash). There are a few awesome MOCs I really should reupload, like Aridike V3, Voporak, Bayzon, Mata Nui, and a few others. Honestly, I'm just lazy. XD

I apologize for revealing my noobishness, but I have LOVED so many of your MOCs that i CAN see, I am frustrated by the sheer number of links to your works that have dead pictures. Especially because the descriptions make them sound so worth looking at. Is this common to MOCpages? I am seeing it alot around... and couldn't think of another place to ask, so: I'm asking. Sweet MOC, and I like the story too! Maybe add some artistic shots of Aridike in with it and you could post it as a separate MOC.

Quoting Legofreak2444 ~ Very cool! Happy (3rd? 4th?) MOCeversary. :) TRATI looks great so far. :D
This is my 2nd MOCversary, but it's the first time I've done a celebration for it. :P
Quoting lone wolf i just found my new typing music for my novel! awesome moc, not the best coloring, but i think the rest of it makes up for it. The story is great, i will looking forward to chapter 2 :)Overall, it's perfect! 100 out of 10!
Glad to have helped a fellow author! (I actually listen to the exact opposite of the tone of my work...Scatman John. X3) And the coloring is that of the set itself, so I just built more into it and evened it out a bit.
Quoting Chopperskull (Leader of air) As for the story, it shouldn't be here, it deserves a page for itself! It's really good,I love how your writing style is and your enhanced vocabulary. It's a nice intro. Now for the moc, really nice, but i don't like the multi- shoulder...thingys. Other than that, you made him super awesome and better than the set. this is really awesomely epic. 5/5
Well, from now on, it'll be on my dA account (http://baron229.deviantart.com/). And the shoulders work really well. The Furno limbs are attached together there and there's a third connector from the front and they provide a really sturdy frame.
